GFSZ applies to K-12, PUBLIC & PAROCHIAL.

But a parochial school is private property. So does the State GFSZ Law only apply to the 1000 foot area that surrounds a parochial school, but not the school grounds or building?

948.61(1)(b)
(b) "School" means a public, parochial or private school which provides an educational program for one or more grades between grades 1 and 12 and which is commonly known as an elementary school, middle school, junior high school, senior high school or high school.

(c) "School premises" means any school building, grounds, recreation area or athletic field or any other property owned, used or operated for school administration.

948.605(1)(c)
(c) "School zone" means any of the following:

1. In or on the grounds of a school.

2. Within 1,000 feet from the grounds of a school.

My interpretation is even if a private Grade 1 -- Grade 12 school you cannot possess a loaded firearm for personal protection.

First we need to get that 1000' radius addressed. 2 1/2 blocks in any one direction from the edge of the zone? That's ridiculous.

Yup, gotta love the arbitrary number, plus the "touchy, feely" people feel good that they are "protecting" our children. Seems it has done more harm than good with all these gun control measures.
