With several new posters from the northshore area coming on board, I'm wondering if anyone wants to get together for some coffee/breakfast this Saturday (March 6th).

I'm always interested in talking with fellow OCers and a couple of us up here are usually willing to meet up at the drop of a hat.

Anyway, if any of you guys in the parishes north of lake Ponchartrain are interested in some coffee and conversation, shoot me a PM.

Decided it's easier to just post it instead of answering individual messages

So, Saturday, March 6th, 7:30am at the IHOP on W. Minnesota Park Rd. Hammond
Just off Hwy 51 north of I-12. Would be exit 40 off I-12.

Short notice, but I figure it's early enough in the day to shoot the bull a bit before starting the weekend chores.

Come out if ya feel like it.

Hmm, I might be visiting my folks in Hammond this weekend. If I drive in on Friday night I'll be there. (Dangit I hate so many "might"s and "if"s...)

edited to add: I should know my weekend plans tonight or tomorrow morning.

Yep, I'll be in Hammond this weekend. I'll see you guys at IHOP on Saturday morning. My father expressed interest in coming as well - we might have another LOCAL recruit.

I played football there and went to school from 92-97.

Good to know that I have a few fellow alumni amongst the LSU fans here. I attended 2003 to 2005, mainly in Gautier, with a few classes in Hattiesburg. Hope to meet you all soon.

Another thought....if we wanted we could find a Starbucks to patronize. There's only 2 in Hammond. One is in the Target and the other is at Southeastern.

I'd be concerned about whether the Target Starbucks is big enough to fit us comfortably. I haven't seen the Hammond one, but the Target Starbucks here in Hattiesburg is on the cozy side. Other than that I have no issues with changing the location.

Not so much a change of location, cause the breakfast at IHOP would be great. But we could visit Starbucks for a coffee after IHOP just because we can.

Yeah, I'd prefer an IHOP breakfast over a Starbucks breakfast. Much more bang for the buck. I'd probably be down for coffee afterwards, depends on how long we lollygag at IHOP.

We had ~10 folks show up during the 2 hours we were at IHOP. I had a blast - it was great to finally meet some of you guys in person.

Ditto. While we didn't take a roll call there or anything remotely formal, we all had a great time. It was great putting some faces with screen names.

I made the drive to Hammond this morning. Arrived at the IHOP just after 9am. Saw Turbodog, JJH and the others walking in so I hopped out and brought up the rear. We were seated on one side of the resturant but as we were getting settled the staff decided that we were too cramped and moved us over to the opposite side of the dinning area. We ordered, we ate and we chatted for quite a while. We left the table after 11 and then stood around the parking lot talking for a while longer. Double_J and I were the last to leave right at noon. I then drove to my sisters house in Ponchatoula and spent the rest of the afternoon with her and her family. I just got home and am tired and wore out. I think I'll hit the pillows now. Good night.
