Firearms Safety Course Saturday Mar 27th <r 10AM-2PM Bring A New Shooter! Remember, It's . FREE!!

[align=justify]Free NRA Home Firearms Safety Course This Month At Puyallup.[/align]
[align=justify]On Saturday March 27[suP]th[/suP] starting at 10AM until 2PM, the WAC continues its efforts in our public outreach efforts with another NRA Home Firearms Safety Course offered as a public service free of charge.[/align]
[align=justify]This course is perfect for the new shooter with little or no experience who needs basic instruction in the common types of firearms, their care, cleaning, types of ammunition, and safety procedures. All of the instructors are experienced and NRA certified.[/align]
[align=justify]The course is open to all ages but children under 16 should be accompanied by an adult and everyone is reminded that there is a "hands on" practical exercise that requires the strength and dexterity to cycle the actions on semi-auto handguns and rifles, so keep that in mind before bringing young children who may not be physically able to accomplish those manipulations.[/align]
[align=justify]The WAC would like to encourage our members to "bring a new shooter" to class, and then take them through the show afterwards on us. The NRA courses we offer through our training and education committee are NOT "WAC Members Only" and are open to the public![/align]

I think you should be very proud of yourself. You are doing the work of 3 men, Larry, Curley and MOE.

Having you along is like loosing two good men.

Oh there you are Curley :celebrate

So is this right no range time, is there at least safe gun handling or just talking about it Curley?;)

I took away the image as I do not what this to get to far off topic as training is good.

It is an honest question since you posted it, it would appear you know something about the course and inquiring minds would like to know.

Since you are unwilling to supply the information I did the research.

Name : NRA Home Firearm Safety Course Short Description : Non-shooting course and teaches students the basic knowledge, skills, and to explain the attitude necessary for the safe handling and storage of firearms and ammunition in the home.

More Details: This is a four-hour course for safe gun handling that is conducted in the classroom only. Students are taught NRA’s three rules for safe gun handling; primary causes of firearms accidents; firearm parts; how to unload certain action types; ammunition components; cleaning; care; safe storage of firearms in the home; and the benefits of becoming an active participant in the shooting sports.

If beginners really want to learn something try going to The Firearms Academy of Seattle for their Handgun Safety Course which is far beyond the scope of the one you are advertising.

For a nominal tuition fee of $50.00, students in the Handgun Safety Seminar have the opportunity to learn vital information on deadly force laws and the state laws regarding ownership and possession of handguns, along with learning the basics of how to handle and shoot your handgun safely and competently.

If you already own a handgun, we hope you will attend this valuable class to learn how to be a safer gun owner, and master the fundamentals of marksmanship.

If you do not own a handgun and are interested in learning about handguns and gun safety, we encourage you to call well in advance of the class you wish to attend. A limited number of .22 caliber training handguns are available, and can be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis, and if you need to borrow one, please be sure to tell us.

This is an adult level course. Students must be 18 years of age or older, free of criminal background, and legally able to own or be in possession of handguns. Students must sign a statement confirming that they can legally possess guns before participating in the class.

The student must complete the 3 hour classroom session before going to the range for the live-fire training (both are at the same facility). Seminars start promptly at 10:00 a.m., and run until approximately 5:00 p.m.

The Onalaska range is approximately 2 1/4 hours and 1 3/4 hours from downtown Seattle or Portland, but give yourself a little extra time in case you make a wrong turn.

The Arlington range is about 50 minutes from downtown Seattle, depending on traffic. What to bring. Students should bring their own good quality handgun in a secure carrying case (unless you have reserved one of our training handguns), and 50 rounds of full metal jacketed (FMJ) factory ammunition (Please, absolutely no steel-cased ammunition).

Unless the student has a license to carry a concealed handgun, the gun must be transported unloaded in a case or other opaque, secure container, out of their immediate reach while in their car. Student should also bring wrap-around eye protection and hearing protection, as well as their lunch.

As you can see FAS offers so much more in their course then the NRA does. You will get hands on application with range time after going through safe handling and legal issues on carry in Washington State. This is an introduction not a one in all training from brand new to expert but you will walk away knowing so much more then the previous posted course.

If you cannot afford the $50 then by all means if you are new then take the free course at least it is something.
