It's my understanding we can now carry in National Parks, with the exception of 'federal buildings' such as visitor centers and the like.

Bottom line, is the cave itself considered a 'federal building'?

There has been discussion of this very issue in the media with no resolution at that time forthcoming from NPS. It will be interesting to see what NPS decides.

Uh, I would say no....
But IF the ONLY entrance to said cave was through a Federal building that had the required signage then it would effectively PROHIBIT possession of a firearm in the cave as you couldn't get it into the cave without going through the building!

Don't tell the FEDs.... I can see them starting a building campaign to do just this!
