Take Back Kentucky organized the Sovereignty Stampede at the state capitol in Frankfurt. Take Back Kentucky, KY 9.12 Project, and the KY Tea Party were well represented. We were there to voice our support of the Kentucky Firearms Freedom Act, and HCR 10, HCR 11, HB 380 (10th Amendment Resolutions and Bills). We confronted Rep. Darryl Owens, the committee chair who has been blocking these bills, and tried to present him with a petition with thousands of signatures Kentuckians supporting this bill. Here's the video of him hiding, running, hiding, and running again.

I encourage you all to contact Rep. Owens, and let him know that you support HB 87 (The Kentucky Firearms Freedom Act, and HCR 13 (Second Amendment Resolution).

Call the Legislative Message line in Frankfort for items 1-6, below: 800-372-7181, TTY Message Line: 800-896-0305

The helpful people at the LRC message line will ask your name and address to determine your senator and representative. It's very easy to make the call, it takes less than two minutes, and you don't need to know anything about politics or politicians. Call every week or so until they pass the KFFA!

There are several action items, listed in order of importance. Please follow through on all of them if you can. We will be pressing this issue hard so more alerts will follow. Cut and paste the following action items into a document, print it, take it with you, and call when you have a minute to spare.

1) Leave this message for the HOUSE ELECTIONS COMMITTEE and feel free to call them directly:
I support HB 87; The Kentucky Firearms Freedom Act. I want it passed out of committee for a vote on the floor.

2) Leave this message for the SENATE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE and feel free to call them directly:
I support SB 122; The Kentucky Firearms Freedom Act. I want it passed out of committee for a vote on the floor.

8) Thank Senator Schickel (502-564-8100 Ext 617) for introducing SB 122 in the Senate, as the House may not be willing to let HB 87 through.

9) Thank all the co-sponsors listed for HB 87, and let them know that you'll support them, because they support you and your right to keep and bear arms.

10) Thank all the co-sponsors listed for SB 122, and let them know that you'll support them, because they support you and your right to keep and bear arms.

11) Call the NRA at 800-392-8683 and let them know that they should stop studying the national Firearms Freedom Act and should start supporting it! The Gun Owners of America the Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership, the Second Amendment Foundation, and several other pro-gun groups already support the Firearms Freedom Act.

ATTENTION Kentucky gun owners!
It's time the citizens of Kentucky stand up to the anti-gun, unconstitutional nonsense coming from Washington DC!

We now have nearly 1600 signed petitions supporting the Kentucky Firearms Freedom Act with more arriving daily, but the time is short and some anti-gun legislators are trying to let this die in committee without bringing it to the floor for a vote.

The
Kentucky Firearms Freedom Act is a very important step in pushing back against the onslaught of unconstitutional federal gun laws such as those in California, Chicago or New York. Firearms Freedom Acts have already passed in Montana, Tennessee, Utah, South Dakota and Wyoming. Your immediate help will add Kentucky to the list of states that draws the line on federal anti-gun legislation.

In the Kentucky House, the
Kentucky Firearms Freedom Act is House Bill 87, and in the Kentucky Senate, it's Senate Bill 122. Thanks to Representative Stan Lee and Senator John Schickel for sponsoring these important bills. Now they need your help to move this legislation forward.
What Can You Do? It's very easy! Make some phone calls. Find 90 seconds to send a message supporting the Kentucky Firearms Freedom Acts. The updated action items targeting the current obstacles to the Kentucky Firearms Freedom Act are in the yellow box at the top of the website.

Every call you make is important in moving this legislation forward!

We passed our Concealed Carry Law because Kentucky gun owners shut down the Capitol switchboard with thousands of phone calls. If you don't want the next federal gun ban, the time to act is NOW! Send a strong message to Frankfort. We didn't vote for Chuck Schumer, Diane Feinstein or Barbara Boxer, and we don't want their New York and California gun bans in Kentucky!

We have until March 26th, 2010 to pass this bill, so we need to focus on the obstacles and obliterate them, one by one.

Or, we can just accept whatever gun ban we get from the federal government next year.

It's going to take our action, your action, calling Frankfort to pass this vital pro-gun legislation in 2010.

If you cherish your firearms freedom and want to preserve it... PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO ALL KENTUCKY GUN OWNERS YOU KNOW... AND MAKE THOSE CALLS!

This is video taken at the state capitol in Frankfort. A group of concerned citizens wanted to deliver a petition to Rep. Darryl Owens, the committee chair that's been blocking important bills from going forward. Bills like HCR 10, HCR 11, HB 380 (10th Amendment Resolutions and Bills), HB 87 (The Kentucky Firearms Freedom Act), and HCR 13 (Second Amendment Resolution). Passing these bills is vitally important if we are to preserve the rights and liberties of all Kentuckians. Why would Rep. Owens fight against rights and liberty?
