Hi, I recently turned 21 not too long ago, got my cpl, and just a couple weeks ago purchased my first gun, an xd40 subcompact.

i CC daily, but havent gotten around to OC'ing as i just want to avoid any awkward confrontation by uneducated people.

so.. HELLO!

Welcome. As many others have noted, a bit of patience and politeness can go a long way with those awkward moments.

For example, I was chatting with the cashier at a local Wal Mart, and mid sentence she noticed my sidearm and froze. I simply waited, she snapped out of it, I said goodbye, and that was that.
