Some Lyrics:

MY GUN KEEPS YOU HONEST
Copyright Right Arm of Wyoming

I'm a peace lovin' man
Don't wanna hurt no one
Just wanna be left alone
A little place in the sun
I'm a peace lovin' man
Don't wanna hurt no one
And of course, I own a gun.

Truth be told, I own more than one.
And I practice most every day
Because peace and freedom
Are not free.
Because peace and freedom
Are not free.

CHORUS:
MY GUN'S
FOR KEEPING YOU HONEST.
THAT IS MY RIGHT
AS A FREE MAN. (x2)

I would never shoot a child.
I'd never open fire on a crowd.
I will never shoot anyone
unless they threaten me or try to take my gun
unless they threaten me or try to take my gun

There's millions of us
no amount of laws will make us go away.
You made up those false laws anyway.
Why don't you just go away?
Why don't you just @#$%ing go away?

I'm like a cat with teeth -
I'm mellow and sweet
until you @#$% with me
There's millions of us
we'll never go away.
There's millions of us
more every day.
(Don't tread on me)

CHORUS:
MY GUN'S
FOR KEEPING YOU HONEST.
THAT IS MY RIGHT
AS A FREE MAN.
MY GUN'S
FOR KEEPING YOU HONEST.
THAT IS MY RIGHT,
THAT IS MY PLAN. (x4, fade out)

GUN CONTROL GETS WOMEN RAPED:
Copyright Right Arm of Wyoming

Is it fair to put a little lady with a whistle
up against an evil monster of a man?
Fumbling for her cell phone in some darkened alleyway
While she fulfils his sick and twisted plan.

Gun grabbers would have you think it makes more sense for
her to trust and dial 911
When in fact her chances of survival are far greater
If that woman - she has got a gun.

Gun grabbers will tell her to relax and just give in
Maybe it'll all be over soon
Not so likely sister and statistics back me up,
He'll likely up and kill you when he's done

CHORUS:
GUN CONTROL WANTS YOU SEDATE!
GUN CONTROL IS FEAR AND HATE!
GUN CONTROL MAKES YOU UNSAFE!
GUN CONTROL GETS WOMEN RAPED!
GUN CONTROL GETS WOMEN RAPED!
GUN CONTROL GETS WOMEN RAPED!
GUN CONTROL GETS WOMEN RAPED!
GUN CONTROL GETS WOMEN RAPED!

It only takes a second for to beat somebody senseless,
The cops won't likely get to her in time
I would rather see that woman have a fighting chance
To save herself from that twisted crime

If you love your sister, love your mother or your wife
Teach her to defend herself against the rapist's knife
If you love your girlfriend, love your granny or daughter
Get her a gun to keep herself out of the murky water

Gun graboids would rather see you raped and see you beaten
than have the power and the skill to keep yourself uneaten
by the 6% who'd rape and kill you just to see you die
Gun graboids take money and will kill you with their lies

CHORUS.
WOMAN: Daddy? May I please have a new gun for my birthday?
MAN: Of course sweetie pop, because I love you very much!
WOMAN: Thank you so much my wonderful husband!
MAN: Heck honey, let's go get it today!
WOMAN: Love you!
MAN: I love you too, baby!
CHORUS.
CHORUS.

I LOVE "I Like Guns." Song is great and video is funny as heck.

There's a lot of "freedom rock" out there these days, and most isn't very good. "I Like Guns" is the exception to that rule.

And I smiled when he said his wife gave him a .357 revolver, because my wife gave me one for my birthday!

If you don't like abrasive punk rock, skip on my CD to the song "We Are The Good Guys". It's the most pop song on there. Well, except "My Gun Keeps You Honest."

Just unzipped the file, got through the first song and on second, so far so good.

I can certainly dig the style. If I hear any screamo though, then I'll get judgemental, but I'll try to stay professional about it :)

I don't mind abrasive music though....

Bwaahahaaa!

I have a special appreciate for "Fakin' the Race Card"

And it sounds like you have Lemmy from Motorhead singing in the background :), whether that is you or not, take that as a compliment coming from me.

I'm really old-school (played in punk bands in DC and Virginia and San Francisco in the early 80s, and my musical tastes are kind of frozen there), so I don't really know what "Screamo" is.

I did see the band Rites of Spring live at one of their eight shows, at Food for Thought in DC. They're commonly called the first "emo" band, but they sounded NOTHING like what is called emo now.

I'm assuming "screamo" is a variation of "emo", right?

But "Gun Control Gets Women Raped" kinda sounds riot grrrrrrrrrrrrrl on the choruses, because I had my wife scream backup on it.

But "angry times call for angry screams", ya know?

I mean, what makes more sense....quietly murmuring about rights being trampled, or SCREAMING about it? lol....

I take that as a compliment. Thank you!

There are all kinds of influences on it, including Motorhead, Minor Threat, Nine Inch Nails and a LOT of Dead Kennedys. I always liked them, but I can't stand a lot of their lyrics now, they're so damn socialist.

The CD is all me, except for some backup singing and talking from the wife, and a friend played guitar on two of the ten songs.

I don't have a touring band, been there, done that. It's just a hobby now, and a way to possibly "infect" some youngsters with the truth. I'm 45 and am long over sleeping on floors for beer money.

Some examples of screamo are compiled here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJHQPgqmTV4

Screamo isn't emo, it's just another form of hardcore punk. Sometimes I'll find a song I like but typically not.

Anyway, finished listening to the album... nice work... I will be honest though I had to skip the Letter to a Young Me. I'm not in the right state of mind for it just yet, but I will listen to it before this weekend is even half way over with.

Thank you for your contribution.

Hmmmm...doesn't really do it for me. I don't hear a melody in any of it.

Strong melody seems to be the common denominator in all the music I like, whether it's Minor Threat, Slayer, Johnny Cash, Neil Young, Nick Cave or Leonard Cohen.

Someone say something about Ian MacKaye? You sure know the right names to drop.

But where does industrial come into it? Quite a different scene, and genre.

Re: Industrial influence: the drum machine programming and over-compressed unison rhythm guitars on the verses of "My Gun Keeps You Honest."

Re: Ian Mackaye: I did a song with him singing backup, back in 1984. My band Baby Opaque,
http://babyopaque.com/
on our cover of Johnny Cash's "Long Black Veil."
http://www.kittyfeet.com/stuff/Cash.mp3

He's also in a documentary film I directed called "DIY or DIE: How to Survive as an Independent Artist":
http://www.diyordie.org

As for hardcore punk not fitting into the "scene" of industrial music, I've never been a part of any "scene." Even when I've tried to be. lol....

Even when I've been around around the nascent days of things, I've usually been perceived as a bit of an outsider, whether it was Dischord punk in DC in the 80s, being a bike messenger in San Francisco, playing the punk circuit with a punkish but not quite "punk" band (Bomb) in the late 80s and early 90s, or "being a part of the open carry movement" now.

I didn't know there was an "open carry movement", until someone re-posted my open carry blog pix last summer on here (and called me a "unicorn", i.e. the rare person who open carries without knowing about OpenCarry.org).

That's how I found this site.

I actually hadn't posted in a while, I've been busy moving, and then out livin' life in my new state, open carrying.

I saw a news show on mainstream TV the other day, mentioned OpenCarry.org, and I signed back in after many months.

There's no "scene" here, just me and my wife. I just do what I do, and people usually ignore it or complain.

Works fine on my end. lol. ...

You take my reference to the "scene" too literally. I've never been a scenester, even in my youth. I was merely referring to what you implied of your CV.

Yeah, I'm listening to it now. I see why you say "industrial".

Sorry. A few decades of defending against idiots saying "you're not punk!" lol....

It's funny now that I sometimes finding myself defending that BS coming from people who were not born when I was in my first punk band. (And they're usually people who shop at Hot Topic.)

I don't think I ever was "punk", it has too many meanings to sign up for the whole thing. But I like a lot of older music called punk.

I just downloaded the album and I am into the first track right now, It has a very "Dead Kennedy's/Black Flag'ish feel to it.

I like it, I plan to get it into the Ipod and get through the album while driving today.

Thanks, I though my preferred style of music left in the1980's, I am glaqd to see someone still doing it.

Glad you like it! Tell two friends, and feel free to burn a copy for anyone.

I love that style of music too, but the lyrics were often so damn leftist, I just had to reclaim it and make it pure.

Jello Biafra taught me not to trust the government, but he also thinks the government should punish the successful. When he ran for mayor of San Francisco against Feinstein, he did it on a platform of that she was too far right for him. He proposed a maximum wage, for one.

There aren't many people making music like that anymore for some reason. There's a lot of "punk rock" today, but most of it is either poppy wimpy mall punk, or it's hardcore that doesn't have much melody and is just angry without the spark and humor that the old stuff had. (just my opinion.)
