In the magazine version of this Spotlight, Time Magazine shows a map of the USA and says that most states allow open carry due to their lack of regulation.

We all know this is bogus and I urge people to write Time and tell them that they need to check their facts again about which states really allow open carry.

The part that is bogus is that Time is saying that my state, Oklahoma, is included in the allows open carry list due to lack of regulation.

This is untrue though. We are not entitled to open carry here in Oklahoma.

Looking at the map that Time provides versus the map on this site and the laws in other states, it would seem that Time is wrong.

The reason I bring this up is that it is almost a push against open carry by making it seem "not so important" to pass protection laws.

Example: Joe Reader sees that in Oklahoma there are no regulations written in law to protect gun owners and to allow open carry, but that it isnt "prohibited", so they think that when we try to get our rights protected (which is ironic in my mind to begin with), that it isnt a big deal to Joe Reader because he thinks that since there is no regulation that its not worth fighting for.

In turn, less support for any protection bill is had, since Joe thinks its already okay to open carry. Less support = less chance for a protection law.

NOW, on to the irony of protecting our rights.

Why are we having to protect a right that we have from the US Constitution to begin with? THAT is a whole other subject that I cant think about without being utterly disappointed with where our great country has started to crack....

In the magazine itself, there is a map on the page and it shows about 80% of states ALLOWING open carry...

I will scan and get it in here as soon as I can.
