GET INVOLVED NOW OR PAY THE PRICE FOR INACTIVITYLATER!!!

Governor Jody Rell has nominated John Danaher III to be a Superior Court Judge!

Those who read and participate in discussions on this message board should think long and hard about Mr. Danaher’s supervision of the personnel in the Special License and Firearms Unit[/b] and how he allowed the rights of law abiding Connecticut citizens to be denied, delayed and violated repeatedly without taking any action to stop the abuse.

The Connecticut Freedom of Information laws will offer and provide the opportunity to obtain the public records necessary to document the abuse he has been aware of and condoned and Commissioner of Public Safety.

Mr. John Danaher who is an attorney could have taken the steps necessary to answer questions from members of the public regarding the rights of citizens to keep and bare arms under both the U.S. and State Constitutions.

Commissioner John Danaher III possessedthe ability to pick up the phone or make decisions that could have eliminated countless cases where honest law abiding citizens were subjected to abuse by sworn members withinhis department.

There are facts and documents that are available to demonstrate why John Danaher should NOT be appointed to serve as a Superior Court Judge together with stories that can be told by those who were abused by his inability to answer questions or make decisions regarding Permits to Carry Pistols and Revolvers in Connecticut.

A partial list of those abused by Commissioner John Danaher III or his subordinates is very lengthy and can be found in the past and present appeal files at the Board of Firearms Permit Examiners.

EVERY FIREARM ORGANIZATION AND/OR PERSON WHO READS THIS MESSAGE BOARD SHOULD CONSIDER SUBMITTING A BRIEF WRITTEN STATEMENT TO ANY COMMITTEE THAT CONSIDERS HIS NOMINATION ALONG WITH IN PERSON TESTIMONY IF POSSIBLE.

Do we really want Public Safety Commissioner John Danaher III in a position to hear appeals from the Board of Firearms Permit Examiners?

To his detriment, Commissioner John Danaher III has allowed himself to be surroundand counseled by high ranking State Police BUFFOONS with badges who make up his inner circle. He and his high ranking State Police Advisors could care less about the rights of law abiding citizens.

Keep watching this posting and more information with be made available regarding Danaher's nomination.

I believe he will have a hearing before the legislature's judicial committee.

There is time to plan a very organized and informative presentation regarding any concerns about his nomination to serve as a Superior Court Judge.

And I don't think we will be alone in our concerns.

A high ranking law enforcement official who has allowed his personal opinions to interfere with the proper application of the law he is trusted to enforce is not cause for a promotion for that official to a position dealing with mediating conflicts of the law.

We must make it clear that this sort of behavior at DPS is not a springboard to higher office, but rather a way to get loudly opposed at your confirmation hearing.

PLEASE CONTACT AND SUPPORT ANY ORGANIZED EFFORTS TO BLOCK THE APPOINTMENT OF DPS COMMISSIONER JOHN DANAHER III AS A SUPERIOR COURT JUDGE.

With the nomination of DPS Commissioner John Danaher III for a position as a Superior Court Judge, the opportunity to collectively voice our concerns regarding his inability to protect the rights of law abiding citizens of Connecticut to keep and bare arms in self defense is now possible.

As law abiding citizens, we can now work to organize and testify about the abuse inflicted upon holders of valid permits to carry pistols and revolvers by member of DPS during his tenure as Commissioner of Public Safety.

Commissioner John Danaher III has allowed himself to be surrounded by high ranking State Police BUFFOONS with badges who have counseled him against making the right decisions.

The Kuck and Goldberg cases offer evidence of his inability to resolve issues or answer questions posed by those who exercise Federal and State Constitutional rights.

I am requesting that every person who reads or posts on the Connecticut section of http://www.opencarry.org make contact with Scott Wilson the President of the Connecticut Citizen’s Defense League http://www.ccdl.us via email at president@ccdl.us and provide their real names and contact information so that information may be shared on this important topic.

Danaher’s nomination now provides the opportunity to demonstrate our collective frustration and complaints with the way DPS has violated our rights to the Connecticut Legislature and the next Commissioner of Public Safety.

For those who have been watching DPS and questioning their authority and actions for several years, this may provide an opportunity to send a message with will be loud and clear.

I personally believe that this is the first and best opportunity to put our grievances on the record with the legislature.

The evidence is available and undisputable that the Commissioner could have taken action that would have protected our rights and chose to remain quiet and do otherwise.

Without going into details, there was a meeting in the Commissioner’s office on January 3, 2008 where he had Lt. Fox Esq. and two retired members of his department in to discuss problems in the Special License and Firearms Unit. At this meeting, he was provided first hand knowledge of the problems only to ignore those who offered him honest and sincere facts and recommendations.

If you read this message board or have had reason to file an appeal with the Board of Firearms Permit Examiners, then you have reason to lend your support to any organized opposition to his appointment as a judge with the Superior Court.

I for one don’t want John Danaher III in the position where he could be the judge hearing appeals of decisions made by the Board of Firearms Permit Examiners now or in the future.
