As a general rule, Proactive Shooters does not publicly release the names of our students. In this case, we feel that an exception is warranted.

On Feb. 4, 2010, we conducted a Utah permit classin Virginia Beachand in that class was a United States Navy SEAL named Adam Brown. We have just been informed that Chief Petty Officer Adam Brown was killed in action on March 16, 2010 in Afghanistan.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Adam's family and friends, and to all who serve at home and abroad. Please come home safely and quickly.

With both my daughter and her husband in the Army and my son-in-law just back in Iraq for his fifth tour, news like this hits too close to home.

God bless you Chief Petty Officer Adam Brown...may your name and sacrificenever be forgotten.

My condolences to his family and friends.

A memorial fund has been set up in his memory. Proactive Shooters is doing another class for the Seals in April and I am going to donate a portion of the proceeds to the fund.

If you wish to contribute to the Adam Brown Memorial Fund, please visit any Navy Federal Credit Union branch or send a check to the address listed below.

Please make checks payable to "The Adam Brown Memorial Fund".
In the memo line of your check, please include:

After serving my 20 in the Navy and retiring, I had the opportunity to work with NSWG2 and SEAL teams 2 and 8. They are the greatest group of guys I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I still keep in touch with most of them along with visiting some when I can. Imourn the loss of Adam, along with the other fallen heroes that have been lost over the past several years. Whether I know them or not, I go to each ones service out of respect.

Rest peacefully now Adam......your work is done. Thank you for your ultimate sacrifice.

Our hearts and prayers go to his family and his teammates.

Likewise. I've done a number of firearms classes for them and have found them to be nothing short of spectacular. Wonderful people, without a doubt.

I worked with Adam when I worked as a civilian ordnance specialist for SPECWARDEVGRU. He will be greatly missed. He was a wonderful friend and always willing to help out a teammate even when he could have been doing something for himself. On a trip to Utah, he willingly helped me do some work when he should have been getting some much-needed rest. He was always there to help when you needed it or even if you didn't...
