Upon completion of the annual meeting, a dozen or so members had lunch at the Pine Cone Restaurant just across the road from the Gander Mountain.

When lunch was completed, several of our members visited the state capitol and walked down state street to the University of Wisconsin Madison. They stopped at a little coffee shop on the way back, and then completed the excursion by returning to the capitol.

And yes, there IS a LEO in the police car.

Nice pictures. Jenny and I missed out by leaving so soon! After we left I told her it would be cool to get some pics outside the capitol carrying, I'm glad one of you had a camera. We took off right after the meeting but we did buy some stuff at Gander Mountain even though we didn't need anything in appreciation of them letting us have the meeting there.

In fact we had more than one opportunity for an interaction with the Madison PD. Around the second block of State Street there were 3 police officers on the corner dealing with some situation. We (8 of us, 7 armed) walked pass them without (apparent) notice. A couple of blocks later a cruiser passed by us slowly, again without any reaction.

On our way back towards the Capitol the cruiser in the photo was parked with an officer inside. He seemed to give a quick glance at us as we passed and returned to whatever business he was doing in the squad car. We spent over 90 minutes on foot around the Capitol, the entire length of State Street into the heart of UW-Madison, returning up State Street, with a stop in Fair Trade Coffee for drinks or food before returning to our vehicles parked on the Capitol Square. Altogether there were 9 OC'ers in the State Street area.

Travis, if you read this, we had you in mind!
