While at Ada's bar my mom was telling me of a CPL instructor who teaches about OC. Well needless to say that I just HAD to meet this guy. It was a Genesee county sheriff who I knew as Grover from the liquor store i used to work. I did not recognize him at first for this was the first time i ever saw him out of uniform. Don't quote me but i think that he said he was teaching out of the gun barn in Otisville. I loved conversing with a LEO that supported responsible OC. We seemed to agree with him on everything that we talked about, in fact i don't think we disagreed on anything.

I always knew him as a good guy but when i find out when/where/cost of his course i will have to recommend him here.

Just a fun last night, haven't been out in a while and that was definitely a high point of my night.

This sounds like Mark Groveland? I took my CPL course yesterday from him. Awesome guy. IIRC, he said he is currently educating police around the state on OC. Now, he didn't sound up to speed on OC by CPL holders in a PFZ (and I didn't recall the code number at the time) but good otherwise. Not to mention that his political views are great!

Welcome to OCDO BluEyes.

You can add your location by going to My Account and then Profile. Pick USA under Country first and then pick Michigan under State.

Yup, that's the one, just didn't have my computer there. I've been meaning to make a little pocket card for my own reference with legal codes on it. Always figured citing an actual law would convince anyone more than "Well, I read on the interwebs that..."

Thanks for the Monkey! He looks awesome!

My dad for sure and myself if I can find the money intend to get certified as CPL instructors this fall. We have the class lined up.

We will be sure to inform any students of the legality of OC with the recommendation they obviously do their own research before attempting to do so.

In regards to OCing at CEZ's, MCL 28.425 o restricts only concealed carry, and MCL 750.234d and MCL 750.237 both exempt CPL holders.

There are some other laws that plainly ban carry at places like Casinos and sterile parts of airports, and of course private property owners can always kick you out, but OC is indeed legal at all the places mentioned in the above 3 MCL's.
