I was filling up my truck, and ran inside to use the restroom. The employee was mopping at the time, so my openly carried Browning hi power was out of his line of sight due to shelves.

When i was walking out, I noticed him staring. I was almost to the door when he goes "HEY!"

Now, he was one of those scary biker type looking older gentlemen, but i could tell from how he spoke to me earlier that he was a nice guy, even though he came across differently at first. I was in no particular hurry, so i stepped over closer to the counter and ask him how he was doing.

He pointed and asked "What are you doing carrying that thing out in the open?"

Keep in mind, im 18, and look pretty young, so CC is not an option for me. I respond that its 100% legal in Nevada to OC from the age of 18, and that there is no law against it. He tilted his head in a confused look and asked since when. I told him its always been like that, and that i was not breaking any laws. He tilted his head to the side with the confused look again, and said that he had heard rumors, but never believed that they were true. I once again said it was infact true, and said goodbye and left.

Overall, i think it went great, and may get one more person thinking about OC. He didnt ask me to leave, or seem scared at all. I know that if i was working a 7-11 at 2 am and saw somebody carrying in a way i thought was illegal, i wouldnt stop them from leaving by confronting them.

Just thought i would share!

When i was at the Inn n Out in Kingman two hours before this, a young couple walked in, and right as they got to the front, the guy noticed, and was staring. Didnt even hear the employee asking what he would like. They sat far away where they couldnt see me, and gave me funny looks when i went to get a refill.

I'm really glad to hear that there are some other younger people carrying. I've gotten a couple investigative looks, but I've never had an experience like yours.

Las Vegas Blvd and Gilespie i think? South of the outlet mall, north of the Lees Discount Liquor.

I had just got into town at 2 am, and needed to fill up to make it all the way home.

I actually walked the strip with a friend right after, from the Monte Carlo to the Bellagio and back, no issues.

Ive actually had several other people ask me about it before, as well as being escorted out of Red Rock.

Some of my friends have yet to notice, and others give me crap and ask why i need it in a casino, or restaurant. Some have seen the light, others still think its silly, none of them mind it though.

I carry for my personal safety as well as my loved ones, but its still interesting to see peoples reactions, or even lack of them. Im going to get a CCW once im 21, but i doubt ill use it much, ill be OCing unless its frowned upon, such as in casinos.

I moved to Vegas about a year ago, and just got my first handgun this month. I've been reading and researching OC for nearly the entire year, and have been OC'ing since the 72hr waiting period was over.

I have yet to have an encounter with anyone yet. No LEO or average citizen has bothered to ask. I do carry my ID and Blue Card though if confronted by a LEO, and Also carry a copy of the OC Pamphlet that I found on this site for the avarage citizen that asks about legality... I will give a copy of that pamphletto anybody that asks if it's legal just to get the word out... I have been into7-11's and Starbucks all over the valley without anything other than the occasional look from normal avarage citizens.

I want to get my CC permit soon, but don't have the money to do so yet,So OC is my option for now- But as you said: once I get my CC permit, I willSTILL OC as my preference.

Hope to see more OCers around this great town - Havn't seen anyone yet...

I've been OCing almost everywhere I go in the Henderson/Green Valley area since last December. I haven't had ANY problems or harassment yet. I'm 19 and look every year of it, so I really am surprised that I haven't had any encounters yet. The most I've noticed is the odd stare or whisper about whether is "legit" or not. It would seem that more people are starting to OC in Nevada :D

Ive been carrying since June of last year, dont turn 19 till this June.

If you want to remain incident free, stay out of the Red Rock casino. I posted what happened to me in one of the casino threads.

Suncoast isnt too friendly either, the right most and left most doors of some of the entrances are marked, and i managed to see one of the signs, left it in the truck.

Security stalked me and there was a couple of them constantly walking by me until one of them realized my holster was empty.

Hmm. . . I will definitely have to steer clear of those areas then. I've been through Green Valley Ranch and Sunset Station quite a few time, but I haven't lingered for more than 45 minutes or so. I've spent countless hours in the Galleria Mall as well the area surrounding it, Chipotle, Panera Bread etc.

Well I've OCed and sat right down at a blackjack table in red rock. Every person's experience seems different. I got carded for a rated R movie at red rock while OCing (i'm 26) but nobody there has ever said anything about me carrying. I'm guessing they don't see it?

My full account of what happened at Red Rock is in one of the recent casino threads, i got pretty detailed. But i got carded for their stupid no one under 18 after 7 pm curfew by security before the movie. Guy must have been blind, i had to reach around it to pull my wallet.

They didnt see me until after the movie when we were walking to the food court.

I normally do a good job of "hiding" the gun with my arm. Its still 100% open, but my arms obstructing it from the side.
