More guns open the door for more danger. The wild, wild West wasn’t a safe place precisely because more people carried guns.

The wild, wild west wasn't a safe place because more people carried guns. it wasn't a safe place because more criminals carried guns. The wild wild west today is just a dive casino adjacent to a hooker infested truck stop.

An increased presence of firearms increases the possibility that a bystander could be hit by a stray bullet, or that a criminal will get a citizen’s gun and use it for no good.

Firearms don't fire on their own, someone has to squeeze the trigger. Armed Law abiding citizens are unlikely to arbitrarily draw their weapon as doing so without provocation would place their right to be armed in jeopardy should they be charged and convicted as such.

I posted a reply criticizing that small penis remark one commenter posted and I was the one who's comment was deleted...

I think my reply started something like "So I take it you believe that your 12" penis is an effective deterrent against a violent attacker?" Then said something like, "Hey don't break into that guy's house, he has a 12" cock."

Just pisses me off how an organization built upon the first amendment doesn't enforce it when they give their readers an open forum to speak their minds.

Just ignore idiots like that, logic doesn't work on them.

Also Bravo Tim, you are a testament to the fact that one citzen really can make a difference.

It is truly amazing at the number of people who are afraid of only that which they can see. They are ostrich with their heads in the sand. "If I can't see it, it does not exist." I refer to the comments after the article. One might remember the verse in the Willie Nelson/Merle Haggard song Poncho and Lefty "he wore his gun outside his pants, for all the honest world to feel". I have had conversation after conversation with people who have no problem with concealed but are afraid of open carry. Why can't they see the logic in that the bad guys don't give you warning, the good guys have nothing to hide? Could it be they don't want to see the logic?

I called Steve and thanked him on behalf of all of us. he did a great job, and even put some sunshine (pun intended) on the NLV situation as well as cracking the door on the parks. I think this is all good. I bought a copy for Frank in internal affairs and was going to have Tim sign it, but now I wonder if we should all sign it. it would be cool to have the OC crew on the wall down there.

Great Job Tim! I just got my first Handgun last month and been "Open Carrying" ever since. Time to get the word out that we all have the right to protect ourselves... My friend and I both open carry now, and I go so far as to continue to wear my Serpa holster around in the places that I can't OC (I.E. - Work) just because OC is part of my daily routine now. Keep educating the public fellow Nevadans!!!

Thanks again Tim for making this public news and contributing to the Education of LVMPD.
