The latest word from the Capitol is that, even though it is not yet on the legislature's web site, the Constitutional Carry bill will receive its final House vote TOMORROW, 4/8/10.

SB 1108 is the Senate version of the Constitutional Carry bill. Since the House has already voted for an identical bill, HB 2347, during their Committee of the Whole (COW) debate, we are expecting SB 1108 to be substituted for HB 2347 during the House Third Read. This will be "the" final vote on Constitutional Carry to determine if it will be sent to the Governor!

Your Representatives need to hear from YOU. We expect this vote is to be very close and it is not guaranteed. Only your pressure can insure its passage. We need to make sure that every pro-rights Representative is at the Capitol, in their seat, and ready to vote for this historic bill! AzCDL's Action Center letter has been updated to reflect tomorrow's scheduled vote. If you haven't sent your letter already, this is your last chance to really make a difference. If you have already sent your letter, feel free to send the updated version:

Any speculation on how the voting will shake out?

I can't believe how anxious I am over this. If this passes, it will be huge.

The same bill passed with a large majority in the COW (Committee Of the Whole), just a week ago. It should pass easily, but I am worried because it has been delayed for a week, and the MSM is trying hard to discredit it. All we can do is work as hard as we can to pass it. I believe that Governor Jan Brewer will sign it if it passes. It gives her a bump with conservatives and differentiates her from the Democrats. I have met her, she seems to have her head on straight.

I'm watching this... what's with the clerk that rattles everything off at the speed of light? I can't understand a word she says. Is that intentional just to get all the formalities out of the way fast?

That's my guess. Be a heck of a thing to tell explain to people when theyask what you do for a living. "I read legislative gibberesh under my breath as fast as I can".

And they're on to third reads!

    CONGRATS.

This is being reported by the AP. Here is the coverage on the NBC affiliate in Utah.

Yeah, KFYI was really demeaning AZCDL(and all the "moron wingnuts" as he put itthat belong to AZCDL)and this bill this morning. He (Barry Young) is calling for all his listeners to call the Governors office in opposition in hopes of getting her to not sign the bill. Everybody needs to call her office to show their support. I got in on the first try - they just want to know if you support or not, it's easy. Call her office and an assistant will pick up - 602-542-4331 or 1-800-253-0883.

It's interesting that Sheriff Joe has come out in support of this bill and KFYI was even to the point of demeaning the Sherifffor it.
