Just got an alert from the NRA. The constitutional carry bill passed the house 36-19, with 5 votes abstaining. The governor now needs to sign it!! Good work AZCDL!!

After it is signed, how long before "constitutional carry" goes into effect?

PS: Can't wait to get out of this rat hole and move to Tucson.

According to the alert I got, "the effective date for this bill has yet to be determined." -- Hopefully SOON!! Anyone else have further information in this regard?

Supposedly, if the governor signs it, it will go into effect 90 days after the legislature closes it's session. So around late July/August? At least that's what I heard.

As a legal resident of Vermont currently stationed in Arizona, I'm pretty happy about this. I'll still keep my AZ permit current for reciprocity reasons (stupid, stupid reciprocity ) whren traveling, but it's still nice to know. Now I just have to work on my base commander....
