Does anyone have a go to lawyer for firearm rights and/or the unlikely event of self defense? If so I might plug their number in my phone just in case.

That's a good question. I'm military so I have the right to counsel from JAG. But that only goes so far. However, in my readings, most selfdefence cases involving firearms are cut and dry.

Advice: if you must shoot someone in self defence, shoot to kill, but don't pump the whole mag into them. If they become disabled but are still alive and pose no further threat do your best to administer first aid, ie. Pressure on the wound, chest compressions what have you. Because when the investigation begins they will see that you weren't acting maliciously. However I believe idaho has a against shooting to wound citation needed. But yeah a lawyer would be nice to have on speed dial.
