Maybe they should have just run into the street to get away! I'm sure the owner of the dog was calling it back into the yard and it has never caused any trouble before!

And it's a good thing teachers aren't trained in firearm use and safety and allowed to carry on campus as surely all that would have happened was killing a dog needlessly before the incident or minimizing it.

"BLACKFOOT, Idaho (AP) — A 28-year-old Blackfoot man faces several misdemeanor charges and his pit bull dog has been euthanized after attacking and injuring three people in a schoolyard last week.

Blackfoot Police Department Capt. Kurt Asmus says Abel S. DeLuna faces charges of harboring a vicious dog, allowing his dog to rush a person, failure to get a dog license, failure to get a rabies shot and a city infraction of allowing his dog to run at large.

The dog was euthanized Monday at the request of the Southeast Idaho Health Department. Expediting the testing kept the three bite victims from having to begin a series of painful rabies vaccines.

Superintendent Scott Crane says a student at Blackfoot Sixth Grade School was hospitalized after Thursday's attack. A teacher received stitches for a puncture wound while another student who was bitten did not require stitches. Nine others received minor injuries, including scratches and bruises incurred during the commotion. "

I love dogs especially but vicious ones should be put down and the owners, well lets just say I dont think what they do is right or ok and punishment should fit the criime.

Guns in schools? or maybe guns around dogs? or guns around neighborhoods? the list goes on.....

I was raised that most of my rights extend out toarms lengthand a few others as far as my property line.

Keep your dog under control or be prepared for the consequences from anyone who feels reasonably threatened.
