The recent UMD incident is just another instance in a disturbingly growing trend of unprovoked violent lashing out by police against otherwise compliant and peaceful people.

These are NOT isolated incidents. This is a nation-wide trend, and the increasing frequency of these incidents (and the increasing brazenness of their cover-ups) does not bode well for anyone who loves Liberty.

When will they start coming for us?

First they came for the students:

Oh, I don't think there is an increase in frequency of the events. I think its been going on since forever. We're just finding out about it with greater frequency as everyman carries a video camera and the numerous security cameras around the streets.

Therecording devices render much moredifficult an alternative "official version" of the events. In the past the"official version" was not particularly questionable, except by a few eye-witnesses.If the eye-witness story didn't make it into the press, the official version held sway. Now, the video versions are available, and distributed past the press via the internet.

When video cameras develop a political inclination, we're all gonna be in trouble. :)

Actually, the Defense Department and the DOJ have been working jointly on technologies to jam civilian video cameras for several years. Such technology should be in the field within the next 10 years. By 2020, it will be technologically impossible to record police because they will all be wearing jammers on their duty belts...

They say it's for "security purposes". Yeah, the "security" of a Police State...

Dreamer,I just talked with one of my buddies who's still a working JBT and he says you are on the schedule for mid day next Thursday. He says it's ok if you record their visit because the op order calls for everyone to be in balaclavas and sterile uniforms.
