Condition Three,

Thanks for that. I voted and enjoyed the brief article. The anti-comments were the usual mix of personal assaults, or opinions based on fraudulent statistics.

I am getting tired of the argument that an OCer will get their gun taken from them. Aswe know, most crimianls are cowards. They will pick on a weak person--likea small lady or like the elderly gentlemen whocan't hear the begger requesting money (you know, that story in the news where the vagrant shot the old man).

Police get their guns taken when they have lost in hand-to-hand combat--which is a situation that police are trained not to engage. Do you remember the term "maintain a defensible zone?" Also, if a BG has drawn down on you, are you a fast enough draw to pull your weapon and join the battle faster than he can pull the trigger? What I mean is, if a BG is armed and wants your gun, he will have you sighted-in before you are aware of the situation, in which case, it is better to hand him an unloaded gun (Condition: Yankee Foxtrot).

Keep your head on a swivel, maintain a defensible zone, and steer clear ofsituations that create that "butterfly feeling" in your stomach. If you get yourself into situations that require a quick draw, you are being irresponsible. Most of us have not been trained for that type of combat. With training, your odds are not very good nonetheless.

Someday, I will learn to express my opinions without being wishy-washy!

I noticed in my inbox today an NRA-ILA alert about upcoming CA gun laws and AB 1934 was on the top of the list. I suppose since the NRA took notice they will contact their affiliated supported legislators to get them a no vote... problem is the majority on all committees and the houses in general consists of socialist progressive democrats and will undoubtedly vote for the bill.

We're doing good with PR and the public -- most people understand the RKBA and agree that we should be able to protect ourselves. The problem is that the reps in our state legislature cater to the very loud obnoxious minority that agrees with their agenda. Couple that with the mahority of the gun owners who have "infriged gun owner syndrome" and we get our current 2A dilemma. It doesnt help that most people may agree but don't want to get involved.

Long story short: Getting true Open Carry in CA is going to be an enormous uphill battle now. It will now rely heavily on getting those in office against the constitution out (first and foremost), getting bad laws stripped from the books through the courts (CGF) and finally engaging the public about their rights and helping them to understand that they can exercise them without fear - thats what we've been doing and should continue to do so.

Carry On!

Ever since I purchased my firearm and joined this forum, I have been talking to people about open carry/gun rights. Everyone I have talked to seemed "pro" gun and excited to learn that OC was in fact legal. I told them I was new also, and invited them to join this forum. A lot of other men at my work have guns and, as I,are looking forward toa scheduled"meet up" when we are able to attend.

Chief James is so full of crap his eyes are brown. Officer safety trumps the 2nd amendment? Take your troops to Az. and do some training. Last Sunday, on our Oceanside stroll, we must have passed 300 people and no one "looked uncomfortable" that I could see. We got a few looks, but mostly no one noticed.

One such gathering recently held in SoCal inspired assemblywoman Lori Saldana (D-San Diego) to introduce measure AB 1934 last month.
"People were understandably concerned. The police were called and the situation became frightening for the families simply enjoying a day at the beach."
Well to put something straight here, I was there at that gathering and Saldana has her information so wrong, borderline self perjury on herself for evening wasting the tax payers dollars for enacting this bill. Hey Saldana...the police were INVITED to the gathering. They were NOT called out due to numerous 911 calls. People were not running away screaming or being frightened like she is trying to make it. She wasn't there and therefore is using her own bias opinion of what "she" thinks happened. She needs to be thrown out of office literally for lying not only to the public but to the whole California Assembly.

"The bill's author, Assemblywoman Lori Saldana, D-San Diego, said unloaded guns pose a threat, in part because gun owners are allowed to carry ammunition and could load their weapon within seconds.

To emphasize her point, she wore a bulletproof vest while testifying before the committee."

Now I wonder what her point was to wearing the bullet proof vest was? Oh and did she use tax payers money to purchase that vest or did Chief James let her borrow it?

If this is true, and I believe you, why not gather as much of the original group as possible and call a press conference? Why not make her look like the fear mongering, lying, liberty-hater that she is?

She is using you all as an excuse, and intentionally lying to the public, get the truth out there in the mainstream. Just a thought.

Their mission statement and policies sure do make them out to be a kinder, gentler, more compassionate bunch of rights violaters. I feel so much better now. :uhoh:

Hey Chief, since the media won't do their jobs, and you don't know what your's is, I'll ask the questions...What polls? Whose your source? What was the sample size? What's the margin of error? Did the Brady's commission the poll? What is even a scientific poll?

Right Cool. Once again you ask all the right questions.

At times it makes me physically ill to see how the liberty haters go about our business. Yes, now I will say it, they are genuinely Anti-American.

The Saldana De Leon Stalinist disgust me
