NY hunting regulations allow you to hunt with a handgun. However, wouldn't hunting in the woods be considered a display of the firearm and therefore open carry?

If I were in the woods with my handgun (ruger 44 magnum super blackhawk hunter) holstered on my shoulder and was witnessed by an anti, could I be reported and subsequently in jeopardy or breaking the law?

I think I found my answer. On the NYS Gun Laws page it states:

If there are no restrictions written on the license, the licensee is permitted to carry a handgun, loaded or unloaded, concealed, on or about his person. An applicant for a license to carry must be required to show, in addition to the requirement for possession, that "proper cause exists" for the issuance of such a license; for example, for target shooting, hunting, or self-defense.

Still not sure though, based on this it appears that it must be concealed. I'm not able to find a clear answer as to the act of hunting.
