Atlanta real estate agent leads open-carry gun rally near Washington

By Larry Hartstein

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

A metro Atlanta real estate agent was at the center of today's "Restore the Constitution" rally in Virginia, whose goal was to bring armed demonstrators "as close to D.C. as possible."

Daniel Almond, 31, a three-tour veteran of Iraq, told the Washington Post he planned to bring a loaded pistol, an unloaded rifle and a bandoleer of magazines containing ammunition to the so-called open-carry rally. Participants gathered at Fort Hunt National Park, 12 miles south of the Capital, then traveled in convoys to Gravelly Point Park on the Potomac River, about a mile from the National Mall.

At the same time, hundreds of like-minded but unarmed counterparts converged in the nation's capital. Signs reading "Which part of 'shall not be infringed' confuses you?" and bright orange stickers saying "Guns save lives" dotted the crowd at the Washington Monument.

Across the Potomac River in Alexandria, former Alabama Minutemen leader Mike Vanderboegh told the crowd armed confrontation should be reserved only for instances of the government threatening people's lives.

However, he said it might be justified if people face arrest for refusing to buy insurance under the health care reform package recently passed by Congress.

"If I know I'm not going to get a fair trial in federal court ... I at least have the right to an unfair gunfight," Vanderboegh said.

As the group made its way from a staging area to Gravelly Point Park, gun control advocate Martina Leinz dismissed Vanderboegh as a bully.

"If they wanted to have dialogue, they don't need to bring a big weapon with them," she said of the protesters.

According to the Post, Almond organized the rally because he's upset about health care reform, climate control, bank bailouts, drug laws "and what he sees as President Obama's insistence on and the Democratic Congress's capitulation to a ‘totalitarian socialism' that tramples individual rights."

"The founders knew that it is the tendency of government to expand itself and embrace its own power, and they knew the citizenry had to be reminded of that," Almond told the Post.

The rally, with militia movement leaders as featured speakers, drew harsh criticism.

"What I think is important to note is that many of the speakers have really threatened violence, and it's a real threat to the rule of law," Josh Horwitz, executive director of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, told the Post. "They are calling health care and taxes that have been duly enacted by a democratically elected Congress tyrannical, and they feel they have a right to confront that individually."

The demonstrators chose Gravelly Point because it is as close to Washington, D.C., as they could get while carrying guns, the Post reported.

While April 19 is the anniversary of the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing and the government's 1993 confrontation with Branch Davidian cult members in Waco, Texas, Almond told the Post that he chose the date to honor a different anniversary: that of the 1775 battles at Lexington and Concord that started the Revolutionary War.

"And that is the only reason," he told the Post.

Just wait...

It will come...

It's starting already...

Rachael Maddow today (Tue., 20 April) spent over half her show trying to connect the non-existent dots between the 2A movement and Timothy McVeigh.

Apparently she forgot the part about where there were actually 2 bombs found INSIDE the Murrah building, as reported by several local news agencies with reporters on the scene (who were told by Oklahoma City PD's Bomb Squad, as well as BATFE officers on-scene) that they had found, and were removing them.

Apparently she forgot about the fact that the one guy who was on the Grand Jury (Hoppy Heidelberg) who tried McVeigh that requested that they be allowed to hear testimonies from eye-witnesses who had provided detailed descriptions of "John Doe #2" was dismissed from jury duty and threatened with contempt of court charges.

Apparently she forgot about the part where McVeigh was photographed in official US Army demolitions training sessions at Camp Gruber-Braggs over a year after he was officially discharged.

Apparently she forgot that McVeigh's occupation listed on his official Death Certificate after his execution was "Soldier" even though he had been out of the military for over 9 years (Discharged from active duty in 1991, from the Reserve in 1992, executed in 2001).

Apparently she didn't connect the dots that McVeigh was executed EXACTLY 3 months to the day of the 9/11 "attacks".

Apparently she didn't connect the dots that although the BATFE and FBI offices were in the area of the Murrow building that received the most damage, there wasn't a single badged officer that was injured or killed (maybe that's because they were all out of the building that morning...)

Apparently she didn't connect the dots that the Oklahoma City police officer, Terry Yeakey, who spent the entire day of the bombing--working well past the point of exhaustion--rescuing people from wreckage, died a VERY hard-to-reconcile death. He had said to his wife later that day while watching the news that the news "got it all wrong--that's not what happened". He apparently knew something. Officer Yeakey was a true hero of that day. He was later found dead, and the "official" ruling was he committed suicide. The way he did this was he drove his car to a remote location, then slashed his wrists over 11 times, spraying blood all over the car's interior. Then he slashed his own throat twice hitting his jugular once, spraying more blood all over the interior of the car. Then, he crawled out of his car, and crawled over 100 yards into the woods, where he shot himself in the top of his own head with a small-caliber revolver (which was never found at the site). He also had rope burns on his neck and handcuff bruises on his wrists. But it was a "suicide"...

Apparently, she didn't connect any dots about G.S.A. employee, Michael Loudenslager, who was seen by many rescue workers on the day of the bombing helping rescue victims. Mr. Loudenslager had previously filed several complaints with the GSA, the building's security manager and other agencies about explosives he found that BATFE and DEA had improperly stored in the building. His body was "found" at his desk the day after the bombing, and he is "officially" listed as a victim of the bombing.

Apparently, she didn't connect the dots about Brig. General Benton R. Partin (USAF, Ret., 31 years service) who was one of the Air Force's chief experts on bomb technology, and is considered to be an EXPERT in blast pattern analysis. His report was submitted to the U.S. Congress, and concluded that the truck bomb, as described could NOT have done the damage that occured to the Murrah Building, and that the ONLY way that the largest collapse could have occurred was from "close proximity demolition charges at several supporting column bases". His conclusion, as an explosives expert with over 30 years experience, was that it was "impossible that the destruction to the building could have resulted from such a (truck) bomb alone".

She also didn't connect the dots that the Murrah building was where the IRS/DEA/FBI investigation records for the Mena AR/BCCI/Zapata Oil cocaine connection in the Iran-Contra affair were being stored, and that dozens of "unbadged Federal agents" were sent scurrying in the hours right after the "bombing" to remove over 50 unidentified boxes of records from the basement storage areas of the Murrah Building, and take them to an undisclosed location for undisclosed purposes.

Nor does she connect the dots that in the debris of the Murrah Building, there was so little Ammonium Nitrate residue that it was nearly impossible to detect, but there were MASSIVE amounts of Tritium in the residue. And that the specific Tritium isotope found there is a "signature byproduct" of a specific type of strategic micro-nuke manufactured by the Israeili company Dimona. Dimona was, at that time, also getting "black budget" funding (most likely money laundered through BCCI from the Mena cocaine project) from the CIA to help the Israelis develop "strategic micro nukes" that they were developing in conjunction with China and Pakistan.

Maddow is a shill. She was a Rhodes Scholar (look up Cecil Rhodes, and look into HIS agenda for the world...) She got her PhD from Oxford. If she's not working for the military-industrial complex like Anderson Cooper, then she's the ONLY media person with an Ivy-League pedigree who isn't...

Just wait--the media hype of trying to link OKC with the "tea party" movement, and the 2A movement is just getting up steam. Within a week or so, it will be in fully-frothing Anti-mode.

Apparently, when you submit hundreds of pages of evidence that the government is actively engaged in "false flag" attacks on it's own people, and has been doing this for DECADES, you are a "conspiracy theorist". But when you have a cable TV show, and you make all sort of wild, baseless assertions to connect two COMPLETELY unrelated events because it is politically expedient for your cause, that is "good reporting".

CNN, MSNBC, and the "MSM" can all kiss my round white ass...

And don't even get me started on that crypto-fascist Chris Matthews...

If by "crazy" you mean I don't buy into the line of right/left paradigm BS that we are force-fed on a daily basis, but rather prefer to form my opinions based on the facts, then yeah, I'm certifiably crazy.

If by "crazy" you mean that I would rather believe the unrehearsed words spoken in public by these duplicitous evil SOBs that are "pulling the strings", than their whitewashed cover stories, or that I believe the initial reports of rescue workers, eye-witnesses, and at-the-scene video recordings rather than the fictional Alice-in-Wonderland fantasy world that the media spews when events like this occur, then yea, I'm absolutely crazy.

If by crazy, you mean that I'm obsessive enough to keep copies of news stories, or press releases or videos of news stories when they first break and are being released undiluted and uncensored so that I can fact-check the "official stories" against the actual on-the-spot evidence of these events when they come out months later (and most people's memory can't recall the details of what was REALLY happening), then yeah, I suppose I am a little nuts.

But I'd rather be "crazy with the truth" than "sane inside a lie".

Wake up, folks. The "reality" you're being fed is no more "real" than a Disney Cartoon. Librarys, DVRs, and video cameras are your friends--learn how to use them.

If you think that the biased, intentionally inflamatory stories being pushed by the media about the OC movement and 2A issues in general are being handled any less truthfully than the "official stories" of the OKC Bombing, or Waco, or 9/11 or "Global Warming", or the Georgian/Russian situation, or the "War on Terror", or Pearl Harbor, or Tonkin Bay, or the original cover story for the Glomar Explorer, or who funded the Bolshevik Revolution or the rise of the NSDAP, or how all those Hollerith machines got to Germany in the early 1940's, you are seriously freaking delusional.

Everything you think you know about the political history of the 20th century is essentially and fundamentally untrue. But it doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to get at the truth.

The truth may not be pretty or comfortable or even morally bearable, but at least it's the truth. And in the end, the truth is the only thing that really matters...

Yeah, that's pretty much the kind of crazy I meant.
But I'd rather be "crazy with the truth" than "sane inside a lie".

I like that. Do I have permission to use it?

Everything you think you know about the political history of the 20th century is essentially and fundamentally untrue. But it doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to get at the truth.

I think that's true of every century, with the exception that the farther in the past, the harder to find what actually happened.

Back on topic, I'm really glad they chose to OC where they did. It really highlights the absurdity that an invisible line marks where OC is legal on one side but not the other. How can anyone argue that an action that is 'good' here could be 'bad' five feet down the road. :banghead:
