I am really eager to move back to America, to KENTUCKY! We have had some delays, mom's medical issues, taxes, slow COMMIEfornia housing market etc.
Anyway, I talked to a young guy who is from that area, and he began to talk about mosquitoes! He painted a rather bleak picture. Said they're all around the state, and they are a problem for "most of the year." Is that true?
I grew up in Chicago, so I know about them, and have been stung by them. It isn't pretty. Almost lost an arm from the swelling welt that grew out of my inability to stop scratching! Fortunately, the doctors were able to get it under control. I almost lost an eye after being stung on the cheek bone by a hornet. Venomous insects ARE a problem for me. A swarm of bees could kill me in a matter of minutes. I have learned to live harmoniously with bees. I learned that if I don't bother them, they generally won't bother me. Mosquitoes aren't so accommodating. There are no mosquitoes in San Diego, with very few exceptions.
I have heard that Avon's "Skin So Soft" skin lotion is an excellent mosquito and insect repellent. Is that true? Is there a product that you Kentuckians use and recommend?
I'd hate to think that a pesky little insect will put the kabosh on my plans to move out of this cesspool of Socialism.
