I've never had any problem at any Wal-Mart in Eastman, Vidalia, Dublin, Hazlehurst, Fitzgerald, Tifton, or Macon. Never been in Wally in Waycross.

True - however, declining to show one when asked would (IMHO) create reasonable suspicion to take you downtown,

Sure, you could get out of the charge once they frisked you and found your license - but exactly what would you have accomplished?

Your logic would also imply that a police officer could ask to see your DL whenever you are driving a vehicle. That would be considered an illegal stop. A LEO stopping you while carrying to check your GFL is also an illegal stop.

Before the passage of SB308 a GFL was a defense to the crime of carrying a concealed weapon. Now, the lack of a license is an element of the crime.

So, yeah...Before SB308 a LEO could demand a GFL for someone carrying CONCEALED (but could not for OC.) Now, a LEO may not DEMAND for see a GWL(new name) if no other crime is being, has been or is about to be committed.
