AUSTRALIAN SOCIALISM: You have two cows. The government takes one and gives it to your neighbor.

ANAUSTRALIAN REPUBLICAN: You have two cows. Your neighbor has none. So what?

AN AUSTRALIAN DEMOCRAT: You have two cows. Your neighbor has none. You feel guilty for being successful. You vote people into office who tax your cows, forcing you to sell one to raise money to pay the tax. The people you voted for then take the tax money and buy a cow and give it to your neighbor. You feel righteous.

AN AUSTRALIAN COMMUNIST: You have two cows. The government seizes both and provides you with milk.

ANAUSTRALIAN FASCIST: You have two cows. The government seizes both and sells you the milk. You join the underground and start a campaign of sabotage.

DEMOCRACY, AUSTRALIAN STYLE: You have two cows. The government taxes you to the point you have to sell both to support a man in a foreign country who has only one cow. The government tells the man the cowwas a gift fromthe government not from you.

CAPITALISM, AUSTRALIAN STYLE: You have two cows. You sell one, buy a bull, and build a herd of cows.

BUREAUCRACY,AUSTRALIAN LABOUR PARTYSTYLE: You have two cows. The government takes them both, shoots one, milks the other, pays you 2cents per litre for the milk, sells it to you for $2 per litre then pours the excess milk down the drain.

Howcriminalsmake it to the topin Australia.

You start by stealing two cows.
You slaughter one and invite the neighbourhood round for a big BBQ
You sell the otherto buybooze for the party

Or, you steal two cows but nearly get caught
So you steal three cows have the party with two
Buy a gun with the third to assist in your next venture.

You hijack a truck full of cows
You find empty land take it over and start a farm

You slaughter 50 cows and hold a political rally
    You are voted into office

You start a company making cow bells
You pass legislation making it an offense for cows not to have bells
    The company grows beyond belief

You then hold a bigger political rally
    You get voted up

    You run the country
You breed stud bulls as a hobby
You ban all guns but keep yours.
When a criminal invades your home and has a gun and is trying to kill you, it would be reasonable to shoot back with your own gun.

My Definition of Gun Control: The idea that dozens of people found dead in the Broadway Café, Tasmania, and many also seriously wounded, all while waiting for police, who were called to show up and protect them, is somehow morally superior to having several armed and therefore alive civilian's explaining to police how the attacker got that fatal bullet wound.

    G'Day Old Grump.

Has that been around all that time? Far back as I can remember we started off life in a tent, dad cleared the land and slowly built our home between work andhunting. Dad took me hunting every second day mostly to put food on the table. We lived near a large swamp and there was always plenty of game about. We picked up coal that fell of the railway wagons for fuel and heat and lived by the light of a kero lamp. Those were the days one will never forget.

Then the Feceral government stepped in and made it illegal to own firearmes without being liscenced. They said we cant have people buying guns unchecked. Weknow their adgender was to find out who had firearms and where. The law abiding, dad included fell for this and before long it was registration of every firearm, and finally a total ban of firearms and also many catagories of firearms such as pump action shotguns, automatics, etc., and now one needs avalid reason to own firearms. Self defence isn't one of them, unless one lives in the state of NSW only, where one can use reasonable force to fend off an attacker but only in ones home. This was made law in NSW thanks to the Shooters Party of which we now have two members in State Parliment. Apathy has made us a land where freedom has been taken away from the law abiding citizens and given to the criminals who since the gun ban are having a field day.

Northwoods Wisconsin electricity when I was 6 and running water with flush toilets when I was 9. Paved the highway in front of our farm when I was about 10 give or take a year, it was 60 years ago and events kind of get jumbled in my old head.

Best days of my life. Walk into anybody's house and you came in the kitchen door unless you were a stranger. To the immediate left or right was a set of coat hooks and hanging over that on pegs or leaning up against the wall under the coats were a 30-30 or a 12 gauge. We went quickly from BB guns to 22's. learned to shoot in the boyscouts with air rifles, bows and darts. We all had a knife or knives and a hatchet. Most of us had to split wood if we were going to have a warm meal that night or a warm room to get dressed in the next morning. They drug me out of the country but not the country out of me and now that I am old and slow I am back in the woods where I belong. I'm just not as frisky.

I have several acquaintances in Canada, England and Australia so I have been following the fights for a long time. Saddens me to see how far we have all slipped but I'm happy to see that some are fighting to get our rights that we once took for granted back again. Don't drop your guard and don't take anything a politician says at face value.

And we were happy, never got boored, and had respect for our elders.

I heard a commotion outside my home a few months ago. It was about 2am, lots of shouting, screaming, swearing. Looked out the front door and saw a group of young people walking down the street on the other side, drinking, when all of a sudden a young girl dropped down to her knees in front of one of the boys, unbuttoned his pants and you guessed it, right there under the street lightin front of the rest of the gang. They cheered and whooped it upas they watched. It was disgusting. I feel for the younger generation. Just where are they headed.

Doing things like this never even entered our heads when we were in our teens. We were out in the country side hunting, fishing, camping and enjoying life.
