Hello everyone. I have been lurking here for quite some time, but this article on the front page made me sick. http://www.insidebayarea.com/top-stories/ci_14971038

This is from the front page.

I tell you, I am the slave who posted second.

this is my rebut:
Well, let me say this: I am a middle age man with a black mom, and a Jewish dad. My dad' parents where holocaust survivors, my Mom was a southern black during the very racial 50-70's. I know what it is to have rights taken. I voted for Obama, am damn proud to say it. I stood up to many of repubs where I work, and told them all what I felt. That said, this article, your opinion and this writer's opinions make me sick. I am college educated professional. I hate the tea party movement. I voted blue several times. The 2nd amendment is the key to our future. Idiots like you will let someone take your freedom away. The first thing Hitler did was ban the handgun. My grandparents died in their in thier 60's due to damage done in a concentration camp. They sported a brand and a tattoo to prove it, lived like sheep, forced to labor. You fight for your future, or it will be taken from you, and it doesn't matter if you are a democrat or not. Wisen up, pay attention.
I hate that all democrats are painted as anti gun whackos.

I hate that all Obama supporters, that is a lot of what I see here, are classified as anti gun.

I hate that black people are often called thugs.

I am a middle aged, black male, ex military independant voter who supports Obama, because he was the smartest candidate running in '08.

Why do all gun owners and gun right supporters have to be crazy wack jobs who want to make Obama look bad? Why do a lot of gun owners feel the need to inject politics into this? These are not my feelings, but I am questioning why people think we gun owners are this way. I am not a whack job, and I don't want to make Obama look bad.

Why can't I just be a man, who wants to protect my family and use the rights I was given by God and the founding fathers?

This isn't directed at the forum here, as I support this place, and am a concealed carrier, as well as an open carrier. I feel like once we get race and politics out of this argument we can get our movement going forward and we can all live in a more safe world.

I guess if the people who think that way about gun owners were anything but an insignificant minority of anti-gun nuts, I would care. But they aren't, and I don't. Why does this insignificant minority of anti-gun nuts think this way about gun owners? Hoplophobia is a phobia. A phobia is an irrational fear.Sorry, but there's no explanation for some folk's mental baggage. You just have to encourage them to seek therapy.

. . . I support this place, and am a concealed carrier, as well as an open carrier. I feel like once we get race and politics out of this argument we can get our movement going forward and we can all live in a more safe world.

Issues of race and politics in gun-rights are manufactured only by those opposed to gun rights, in an attempt to obfuscate the clearly rational justification for gun rights. What issues of race or politics do you see coming from gun owners themselves in their argument for gun rights? I see none. Gun owners' arguments are about gun rights.

I like what you say about removing these obfuscations and getting the OC movement "going forward". Tell us about your personal efforts in these endeavors with your own friends, family, and community.

I disagree with the comment that Barry was the smartest candidate in 08 :what:

He just had the right puppet masters behind him :p

There is no difference between the R's and D's anymore.

But I do agree with the rest of your statement

The only "slaves" around here needed are EACH OF YOU according to some in the government today. Just look at the government intrusion into everyday life, usually based upon how much YOU need to be Taken Care of (READ: Controlled).

One way to look at the Elected Politicians today is to ask this simple question:

Is this person a Servant of the "We The People" or are they a Master "We The People"?

I, for one, want only servants in government.

Hope to meet you at an OC gathering, if you are in Michigan.Put your location in your profile, if you would please. It helps with the demographic statistics on this website.

Well this is extremely pathetic! Ya BO was so smart he has taken everything away from Americans and given the power to the government and you didn't even notice.

I did.

The Dem leaders characturize their sheep followers in the manner you state and you do nothing about it. They say you're gay, you're pro illegals, you're pro abortion, you're pro global economics, on and on and on, until you're not even American any more. Your Dem leaders say you're anit-gun. What happened to American values. Yet you still bow at the alter of Obama. Again pathetic.

You don't want racial divide, yet your leaders always characturize issues as a racial issue. BO is the most divisive leader we have ever had in my life time. He divides Americans by race, pol party and economics. All of BO's advisors are socialist in nature and push their agenda on Americans like you who fall at the foot of the oppressor. Again pathetic.

You're Dem leaders say the Tea Partiers are racist and violent, yet no one has any evidence of that. But because they say so it is true, in your mind. Now compare the protesters in AZ that oppose enforcing legal immigration status in AZ. There is nothing in the law that requires racial profiling and in fact it prohibits racil profiling. It basically give AZ the right to enforce the FED laws. Yet may of those folks got all rieled up by you're leaders on false pretences and they were very violent these past few days. Yet you did not denounce this, nor did your so smart leaders. See, you're being lied to by your leaders and you believe them, I guess that's why they are so smart.

NOT!

Well I did read the article and it is what I would expect from the SF/Oakland, CA croud. The article is anti-gun, period. I don't know what the intent was by the OP to link the article.

The article really exemplifies my point that the Lefties always characturize opposing views as "Crazies", in this article that would be us gun carriers.:banghead:

The article was not about carrying unloaded gunsbeing dangerous, it stated that all gun carry is dangerous and should not be allowed. In CA you cannot carry a loaded gun, the OC supporters in CA carry unloaded for 2A awareness in CA, author pissed on that idea. And went on praising a new law prohibiting carrying unloaded. They think they are safer if only the gangs have guns and not legal citizens that would protect them.

Are there any sane thinking people in CA?
