These are just the local ones - the indoor ranges almost all offer some sort of classes and instruction so check them out too.

Disclaimer: I have not attended any of the schools nor work for any gunshop.I simply put this together for those that may be interested in looking for some courses in the Washington area.

I learned the hard way - years and years of practice and trial and error. As I get older I hope the newer folks getting into enjoying shooting don't repeat my mistake.

I can give a thumbs-up to firearms academy of seattle in Onalaska. I took thir handgun safety course right about when it first came out. Marty is a stand-up guy and his wife is great too. Very easy to learn from.

+2 on FAS.
My brother and I went to FAS for their handgun safety a few years back. We liked it so much we went back and also took their defensive handgun class.

We mentioned it to our friend and he went with his girl friend's aunt. They also took the safety class and defensive handgun. They really enjoyed the class.:celebrate

I'm going to throw in another school, LMS Defense. I'm surprised it wasn't on the list. Anyhow it is for people who have experience with firearms. Their "Pistol 1" class is definitely not for beginners... All teachers are ex military and teach the classes at a very high pace.
