Why would anyone want someone that doesn't want them?

This is fairly common...It's a little sad that someone wants to keep a relationship so badly, they're willing to kill to do it.

I don't think it's as much as wanting to keep a "failed" relationship as much as it was an "If I can't have her, nobody can," type of attitude. I'm sure he probably thought her wounds would be fatal, that's why he turned the gun on himself...so glad to see his plans were spoiled and she lived.

Emotion is the antithesis of reason, so I don't think that by the time someone pulls this sort of thing there is a lot of higher cognitive function being applied to the problem. - Jay.

I don't think it's emotion (I've been pissed at the behaviour of ex's before), this is full blown narcissism.

"No one leaves ME" is a lot different than "I can't believe that YOU did that."
