I've noticed in a lot of gun-porn pictures, ya'll like to post what else you carry, such as flashlights and knives. I can understand the use for a good knife in daily life, and I also see many practical uses for flashlights, but the problem I find is that I don't know much about either. What are good brands and models of non-weapon mounted flashlights or tac-lights and knives?

I carry a USA made Buck assisted opener , a USA madeSchrade, small2 blade pocket knife , and a Surefire E1L flashlight every day around the house.

When I go out I have these , plus a Surefire 6PL on my belt.

I have heard of a flashlight brand called Fenix ( I believe ) that they say is a good light.

I carry the AK-47 by coldsteel...I like the quick-draw feature that opens the blade as one removes it from the pocket; this type of quick-draw blade is a must for folks carrying pistols. The blade is also short enough to fall within many state laws governing blade carry. Blade is very sharp from the factory and is very durable... I have about 4 copies that I have for either carry or pig hunting...

Surefire E2D LED, 160 lumens on high, 5 on low. Well worth the $150 price tag. Mine got accidentally left in a half frozen puddle right after one of the winter storms here in VA, retrieved it the next morning and functioned the same as always, flawlessly.

Knife varies day-to-day. Sometimes a Benchmade 530 Pardue, sometimes a Coldsteel Recon 1 tanto

the flashlight i normally carry is the one with the longer lanyard; it's River Rock brand. i bought it at Target for about $5 a few years ago, and it's been a trooper. i had an Inova about the same size, and it quit on me after a month, after taking a dunking. this one has been submerged in the river, dropped out of a two story window, and used like a flail, and it's as bright as the Inova. it runs on one AA battery; i use lithiums in it. the other flashlight is a Nebo; i picked it up at a local gunshop for $10. i just wanted something with a crenellated crown on it. it's not so bright, but so what? it'll still hurt when i whack you with it.

I went with one of the new Streamlight mini's and it's accompanied by either a CRKT Triumph or my Emerson Karambit with the blade-opening lug. I figure the Karambit is going to provide me the most effective damage while keeping me from cutting myself should I need to use it for self-defense.
