2 police officers suspended after drunken-driving arrests By Ryan Haggerty of the Journal Sentinel

Two Milwaukee police officers accused of driving drunk while off duty have been suspended, according to city documents.
The city's Fire and Police Commission was formally informed of the discipline at its meeting Thursday.
Officer Matthew J. Truman, 30, was arrested Jan. 11 by West Allis police after he was pulled over at S. 84th St. and W. National Ave., according to a complaint filed with the commission.
A breath test measured Truman's blood-alcohol level at 0.25, more than three times the level of 0.08 considered evidence of intoxication in Wisconsin, the complaint says.
Truman was suspended 35 working days without pay by Police Chief Edward A. Flynn, according to department documents.
Officer Jose M. Luna was suspended 40 working days without pay in connection with a Feb. 5 incident in which he was arrested and ticketed by Bayside police with first-offense operating while intoxicated, according to Bayside police and a complaint filed with the commission.
Luna had called in sick that day but later left his home to go to a restaurant without getting permission from a supervisor as required by department rules, according to the complaint.
Luna was pulled over in the 8900 block of N. Port Washington Road and was arrested after he could not complete field sobriety tests, the complaint says.
In other business Thursday, the Fire and Police Commission approved the promotions of five Police Department members from lieutenant to captain. The lieutenants who were promoted are Stephen R. Basting, Michael J. Brunson, Terrence T. Gordon, Aaron M. Raap and Carianne Yerkes.
Their new assignments have not yet been released publicly.

The last time I checked the was the God d#$% United States of America. Since when do we need to ask Feckin Permission to leave our homes?
I don't approve of the drunken stoopers butthat is nothing new with the MPD. Just check out their yearly party.

But having to get permission to leave your home? That proves Flynn runs the Third Reich!

Can you imagine the sick leave abuse that led to that policy? And you know the FLOP goonion lawyers were all over it!

When I retired, I sold 3500 hours of sick leave back at my hourly rate and a bunch of annual leave at 1.5 times my rate.

We have the same type of policy. You can cash in your accrued sick leave and they take those hours, double them and then multiply that number by your last hourly wage. those funds go into an account to pay for your medical expenses throughout your retirement. Not a bad deal actually.
