Does anyone know of a source for a extended thumb safety for a Springfield 1911a1? I just purchased one and I like it but the thumb safety areais rather thin plusI have to reach pretty far forward to get a good press on it. I have small hands.Any advice would be appreciated.

You have lots of choices. There are more manufactures than I know, and tons of distributors. Major distributors are Midway (www.midwayusa.com) and Brownells (www.brownells.com).

    Manufactures:

    Ed Brown - http://www.edbrown.com/
    10-8 Performance - http://www.10-8performance.com
    Wilson Combat - http://www.wilsoncombat.com/
    Cylinder & Slide - http://www.cylinder-slide.com/
    Caspian Arms - http://www.caspianarms.com/
    Les Baer - http://www.lesbaer.com/

I know I am missing some, but this should get you more than enough info to want/need to spend thousands of dollars!!

    Good luck!

    It's safety!
Perhaps if you would use a real computer you wouldn't have to apologize for not being able to do so many things on the internet!
