They have gone so far hundreds of thousands of citizens marched yesterday throughout the country with loaded guns and rifles on their backs. Asserted their right to openly carry arms while performing "everyday tasks like driving to work, walking the dog, buy a coffee at Starbucks or Barnes & Noble book," wrote John Pierce, co-founder of "Those who choose to carry openly going about their business so as the six million Americans who have permission to carry them concealed. The only difference is that those who have openly taken their jacket. "
The country better equipped in the world with 90 guns per 100 citizens, according to the Institute of International Studies in Geneva, is no longer content to take them out to go hunting, but want to display them to show off their power and to deter criminals.

We are seeing a "trend" of sorts in the European press - the covering of the OC movement to an extent greater than it is covered by the mainstream media here in the USA, and with a much less hostile tenor and tone than the coverage by the hometown press.

QUESTION - is this an indication that the Europeans are beginning to see that the right to keep and bear arms, the bastion of democracy and that which separates a citizen from a subject - is something they would like to have?

QUESTION - are the Europeans beginning to think that their police are both not responsible for and incapabable of protecting them as individuals, and want to start assuming responsibility for their own safety?

Or are they just fascinated that the USA is still filled with juveniles who want to keep playing Cowboys & Indians/Cops & Robbers?

    Wish I knew the answer(s).

    stay safe.

Foreign news media are an interesting counterpoint to the stuff the mainstream media in the USA spoon feeds us. While it doesn't have the day to day events locally, larger issues that do get mentioned often get a very interesting and (it seems to me) less biased viewpoint.
