Interesting article.... County Sheriff Wriggleworth's comments leave no doubt where the "us vs them" attitude is coming from. And it isn't "us".
Gun control isn't about the gun at all.... for those who want gun control it is all about their own fragile egos, their own lack of self esteem, their own inner fears, and most importantly... their own desire to dominate others. And an openly carried gun is a slap in the face to all of those things.

I've NEVER had any respect for Wrigglesworth. He's a democrap. And if he had his way, CPLs would still be MAY issue.

Since I live in Mason now, I'm up for it. As long as it's not this week. Wife went into the hospital Saturday, hopefully will be out tomorrow, so things are sort of screwed up this week.

That was just a weakattempt to scare the general public. I believe that if you were legally in posession of an automatic weapon that open carrying it would indeed be legal.

slippery slope. I like that there is no open carry law, and do not want the government to get started in it. In 20 years, they will have screwed it up as bad as they have screwed up CC.

Why are so many people convinced that all police regularly train with their guns? Chances are I could shoot more accurately around the back and between the legs than some of the so-called professionals (not that I'd try, I'm just making a point that many of them are a horrible shot).

The sad part is they can usually go in and shoot whenever they like on the department's dime, even when we're struggling to find ammo--yet they choose not to. I'd bet if ammo went down 50%, most people here would shoot twice as much.

funny thing, i was on my way to taco bell in lansing with my AK(pistol) and my friend called me and told me about the story.

one woman asked me if it was real or a paint ball gun, i explained it was real and the legalities of OC, she got excited, and said she felt much safer with me there.

that was my thought as well. sounds like willfully mis-informing the public.

I second that!! Wow - he's not shameful about his position, is he (Wigglesworth)? In reference to the Ponderosa incident, he says that when we OC and get together, "someone's gonna get hurt". Hmm... only by officers making illegal detainments! I'm so sick of the misinformation....

Ive never saw anything prohibiting the carrying of an automatic weapon, so I would say its not illegal. Its not practical either. If you happened to have to use that automatic weapon, there would be a tidal wave of opposition from the people, the police, gunowners, the media, and then the lawmakers.

well Glock 18's are selective fire...

if its in semi auto mode it wouldnt be much different than a glock 17 id assume.

could possibly have a very bad outcome if the media got hold of verifiable info that it was full auto and you used it in an SD situation.
