For Immediate Release – May 17, 2010 urges Parliament to repeal long gun registry

Growing interest in Canadian gun rights sparks new discussion forum at

Gun registration is largely unknown in the United States, but for several years Canada has been squandering public resources on a budget busting privacy invasion scheme called the “long gun registry.” is pleased to join not only rank and file Canadian police officers, but also an apparent majority of Parliament members, in opposing continued expenditures on “feel good” public safety measures that are in reality “public safety theater.”

But unfortunately there are disturbing reports that the Liberal Party’s Michael Ignatieff will “whip” any member of his party who votes again to shut down the long gun registry. Ignatieff’s bullying tactics are “at odds with North America’s democratic tradition[/b],” says co-founder John Pierce, and that particularly “on important civil rights issues, elected officials should be able to vote their conscience.” Pierce's blunt message to Ignatieff:

"Mr. Ignatieff: Put your whip down!", a growing North American pro-gun Internet community of nearly 25,000 registered members, also officially invites our friends to the north to use our web site by announcing the addition of a Canadian discussion forum, “forum 69,” at

Pierce, a 3rd year Hamline University law student who lives near the Canadian border in Minnesota, welcomes Canadians to, and notes that[/b]

“the Canadian Constitution Act of 1982’s guarantee that ‘this Charter of certain rights and freedoms shall not be construed as denying the existence of any other rights and freedoms that exist in Canada’ sure looks to me like it protects the pre-existing right to arms held by Canadians since before the English Bill of Rights of 1689 codified this right.” [/b]

    Carry on![/b]

I am not anti Cop I am just pro Citizen.

    U.S. v. Minker, 350 US 179, at page 187
"Because of what appears to be a lawful command on the surface, many citizens, because
of their respect for what only appears to be a law, are cunningly coerced into waiving their
    rights, due to ignorance." (Paraphrased)
