I'm calling BS on this. Especially after the conversation that I had today (can read my post in general) Letterhead looks too much like it was done in word not like a professional letterhead for a large corporation, lack of company logo, Palm Bay is in FL, card that is on the page is from a casino in atlantic city. Third Paragraph starts with "Mr. Tom" Tom sounds more like a first name, I would expect that an "executive" at a multi billion dollar company would have enough of an education to use proper grammar in that siruation.

Uh, This is M1Gunr, a person most of us have met. The picture looks legit to me, as well. The card is there to block personal info...
If you really doubt it, call the number on the letter. See for yourself and record the audio.

I talked to chases local "security specialist" today on the phone and was told that they support OC in washington state since it is in line with washington state law.

yes it's M1Gunr that made the post, the letter is NOT written to him he is simply re-posting it from another forum, so since he found it on another forum instead of someone else fnding it that makes it truth?

i had a credit card from chase years ago and they never had a problem with me buying gun related items from wades, including a silencer. its really hypocritical that they will take your money if you BUY gun items but not do business with you if you deal in firearms.:cuss:the hell with them.:banghead:

I dont think he was questioning M1s honesty at all. M1 posted it but he said it didn't happen to him. He is just re posting from another forum. I think he saw it on there and decided to pass it on. I doubt he is willing to vouch for the person who wrote it.

There is a lot of reasons to question the validity of this story. One thing that comes to mind is that Guns are a huge business with a lot of money involved, it just doesn't seem plausible to me that a bank would not want the business of gun dealers. Banning guns in the premises is one thing but to not do any business at all with such a huge industry would effect the bottom line in a big way and just makes no sense.

I Googled the phone number. The link I got says it's from Chase Bank central offices in Phoenix, AZ. Oddly enough, that entry is by someone named Tom.

I'm beginning to think this is a hoax being perpetrated by someone with a hate on for Chase Bank.

+1

No disrespect to M1G, I missed the bit that said it was from another forum. This just seems too extreme, too political from a business that wants to stay in business..

I did pull this from another forum, one that I don't visit very often but thought this was worth passing along.

I will send a letter to Chase and get a proper response.

<edit>
Email has been sent (5/19 @ 9am) and am awaiting a reply.

Got an email back and was requested to call the person. I didn't get the answers I was looking for and have to make another call tomorrow. Will keep everyone posted with info as I get it.

According to their Annual Report, JPMorgan Chase & Co is based in New York City. JPMorgan Chase Bank, National Association, and Chase Bank USA, National Association, are subsidiaries of the main corporation.

They may run part of their operation out of AZ, but the corporation is not based there.

Given the B of A example cited, I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility that this is a true story.
