He said he thinks it's a bad idea, not that he was citing, detaining or arresting you for it.

Police are entitled to their opinions, as long as they do not allow those opinions to color their enforcement of law.

So him saying he doesn't think it's a good idea isn't a trespass on your rights.

Yes, I know. I was responding to Dreamer's assertion that a LEO giving his opinion was a violation of civil rights.I was being sarcastic.
