Anyone forming any thoughts on the campaigns at hand?

I am particularly interested in people's impressions of the primary race for the RepublicanGovernor's and Congressional races. Presently I lean towards Otter.

I was struggling with Ward versus Labrador but have pretty much come down for Ward at this point.

Crapo seems to be doing a wonderful job so far and his seniority and reputation within the Republican Party are benficial for Idaho.

Personally, I am not interested in wasting my vote on fringer candidatesso am trying to carefully look over the Republicanfield for true conservatives with strong pro-2A, pro-security, stronger/restrictive immigration laws, smaller government and fiscalsanity.

It's been heartening to see the trend at weeding out the old guard big spenders, large government proponents and faux conservatives. Kudos to PA for getting rid of Specter, Utah for pushing an older incumbent out and those Congressional races where so many new faces are coming up from the 25 to 45 generation. That is where we desperately need some new attitudes and leadership.

I am somewhat torn on Labrador versus Ward. On one hand Labrador is advocating the fence, but Ward's responses show a more in-depth approach which builds up in phases to where immigration can be reasonably subject to control.

I know Labrador is an immigration lawyer, has legislative experienceand also that his NRA rating is solid but there is also this movement to bring in some new blood to Congress and government.

On this topic, Idahoans for Liberty has released their endorsements for this election. Although they currently don't list anyone for Governor, there are lots of other candidates listed for other areas:

http://ronpaul.meetup.com/62/messages/10137046/

I have had a hard time accumulating information on all of the candidates but feel this is as good a place as any to start. For reference, a little about ID4L from their meetup site:

Our basic platform is as follows:
- U.S. Constitution (every issue, every time);
- Abolishing the Federal Reserve and restoring sound currency;
- State's Rights/Power of the County Sheriff;
- Dramatically shrinking the size of the Federal Government;
- Low taxes;
- Free market capitalism;
- No compromise on the 1st Amendment;
- No compromise on the 2nd Amendment;
- A humble foreign policy and no nation building;
- Securing our borders;
- Personal freedoms and personal responsibility;
- Lawmakers should focus on repealing/decentralizing instead of creating new laws;
- We are more afraid of the U.S. Government than we are of Al Qaeda and the boogieman Osama Bin Laden.

So, Otter, Crapo and Labrador look like the direction we're heading for November. Generally good 2A support (all A+ from the NRA) and plenty of conservatism in that crew.
