Wisconsin Carry receives about 100 new members per month on average.
When a new member signs up, they are mailed their member decals along with a welcome letter. In that welcome letter we provide several opportunities for them to keep up with organization events and events relating to the cause of freedom and carry rights in Wisconsin.

our website of course: www.wisconsincarry.org
and lastly they are given a link to the Wisconsin Forum of OCDO.
We chose to use the forums here at OCDO because of the good working relationship we have with the founders Mike and John, and we wanted to bring people to the forum in appreciation of their support of our organization.
Recently I've begun to question whether I'm doing a disservice to our new membership by sending them to this forum.
Many of those new members assuredly come here and lurk for a while before posting.
There is a great deal of information to be gathered and shared here, but there is also an exceedingly hostile environment.
This forum is not WCI domain, so we have no leverage to affect the content on this section. We do however have to consider the best interest of our new members and have the option of not directing them here if we don't feel its in the best interest of getting participation and positive perceptions of the carry movement in Wisconsin. We hope to be able to be confident in continuing to offer members a link to this discussion forum to learn and share from all the experienced members here.
I recognize the internet provides a safe haven to snipe away at people whom you disagree with, but I would just ask that you please consider whether a shot at a fellow poster (deserved or not) is important enough to post in consideration of the fact that it may come at the sacrifice of the participation of newcomers to the forum who are lurking for the first time who may decide its not a worthwhile investment of their time.
I guess what I'm saying is there is SO much knowledge and information on the forum. A little less hostility and a little more information share may go a long way to getting new-comers to the forum to engage and participate instead of writing off the forum as petty and useless. We all know it can be a great source of information.
