With the first link, the chain is forged. With the first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably. The first time any mans freedom is trodden on, we are all damaged.

Yeah, I agree with this. I think the first inch that we give up, just sets the precedent that we can be brain washed into thinking guns are not necessary any more and freely give up our right to them. If this falls, more are soon to come.

Every once in a while the government demands "reasonable" change. The sheeple agree, telling themselves " that's a reasonable compromise" Little by little our rights are eroded by the people we trusted to protect them. If our liberties had been infringed all at once 200 years agoto the point they have been slowlyover the years, there would have been another revolution. Just a small reminder, it's not just about gun rights. We concentrate on gun rights so adamantly because itis the most constantly and persistently attacked. Don't forget the other 9.

Thanks to Ayn Rand, I recently became aware of a particular line that is engraved on the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC:

"I have sworn upon the altar of God eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man."

It's so simple, yet struck me in a profound way. In the end I find myself saddened and outraged at how far our nation has strayed from the core principles we were founded upon.
