A political victory for carry rights in Wisconsin

One of Wisconsin Carry's Founders Club Members Dave "Ole" Olson is a delegate with the Wisconsin Republican party who participated in the Wisconsin Republican Party convention in Milwaukee last weekend.

Dave is a very strong advocate for true carry rights and he has been working actively along with other delegates to make some important changes to the Republican platform.

The following document summarizes what has occurred at the GOP State Convention with the official Republican platform.

Wisconsin Carry and our membership hopes to continue to expand the ability to exercise the rights our state and federal constitution re-affirm through all available methods, political, legislative, legal/judicial, public awareness and any other effective means.

A fantastic job by Dave"Ole" Olson.

There are still two problems I have with Walker. One is that he supports the privitization of state employee jobs. The other is the fact the he supports the GFSZ.

I don’t disagree.

The problem is that the discontentment with the GOP has sidelined or driven away many good likeminded people. I myself was one of them until recently. I’ve realized (something I’ve always known); that standing on the sidelines screaming at the top of my lungs about how screwed up things are; does nothing to change the direction of the party.

Philosophically and ideologically; I’m a Constitutionalist/Libertarian.

However, (as much as some do not want to accept the reality) a third party is always a spoiler. They don’t have a solid internal party structure that is necessary togenerate the needed support and they continue to promote polarizing candidates. The other problem iswith the Constitutionalist/Libertarian people themselves; they are extremely independent thinkers and often broaching on radical and hard to get to agree on more than 2 or 3 issues at any one time collectively. I can say that because I am one. I explain it that it is ‘a lot like trying to herd cats’. The only real way to change the direction of this Great Republic is to change the direction of the GOP. You cannot do it from the outside looking in.

I challenge everyone to skip a round of golf a week, 1 less weekend trip to the cabin, and take that time and $ and invest in our future while it is still possible. We are on the brink of total socialistic control. It is our social responsibility to be informed voters.

When doing this, remember the words of the late great Ronald Reagan;

“The person that agrees with you 80% of the time; is your friend”.

So, the GOP is Hobson's Choice? That's not much of a choice at all. Kind'a like the NRA Emperor's new clothes, touted only by sycophants, flacks and chamberlains. Nope, the GOP is dead (Bush-41), dead (Bush-43) and dead to me. I will vote my conservative principles and if the rest of the electorate is not smart enough to follow me that's fine.

ETA (interrupted by turning my grill roast pork loin): Conservatism is an integral structure, like the three legged stool, take away any part of fiscal, social and national defense and you are left with the GOP Republicans (contra republicanism).

I agree Fireball 357, I also am a Libertarian at the core. One of the biggest problems that I see when people start talking about a candidate or a political party they seem to allow to much room for emotion, instead of governing with straight foreward facts and figures. I can't help to wonder what direction this country would be going in if people followed the Constitution and what our founders had in mind for this country instead of what they like or dislike. Anyway, the move by the GOP seems like a step in the right direction. Well done by everyone involved. Carry on.
