On this Memorial Day weekend it would interesting to see how many members are Veterans. Also where you served and when. Maybe we can start with Master Doug who I think might have been a WW1 U-Boat Captain :D Just kidding Master Doug.

I enlisted in the US Army in 2004. I was sent home after six months after being injured in training. I was trained in Fort Leonard Wood. My MOS was military intelligence but no one seems to believe me by claiming there is no such thing.

I'd also like to point out that Memorial Day is for those that didn't come home alive like I did. Veterans have their own day to celebrate.

My grandfather used to point out that someone from every generation of the family had served in the military since the Revolutionary War. I believe I was the last in that long line, unless I have an unknown cousin somewhere who has served or is serving.

I'm Vietnam, Era Military Intelligence. My father was a radio operator and forward observer in the 6th Marine Division in WW2. My grandfather was a doughboy in WW1, awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for making a solo charge up a hill and taking out German machine guns that had his unit pinned down (my dad jokingly said that his father didn't realize nobody else was charging with him.) My grandfather also was in MI during WW2, and retired a colonel.

To all veterans, a salute!

Airforce 1951 to 1955. Pope AFBase Ft Bragg, Japan, and 4th Ftr. Wing, Kimpo, Korea. I remember going to Japan on the Gen. Patrick, cant remember coming home. All I remember is taking my boots off and dancing with some girls at theChi Chi Club in S.F. The next thing I was standing in front of the Kenney Shoe Store in Kenosha watching my brother fixing the display in the front window. He was the mgr. there. I was standing there for several minutes before he saw me. Its funny because I can remember that part like it happened yesterday.:?
