After seeing many threads here turn into, "DONT TALK TO COPS@!!1" and whether or not people should just not talk to them period, I did some looking online for an informative guide on what your basic rights are when you encounter police. The best and most informative result was http://flexyourrights.org/ But since the full video isn't listed on their website, I will link the 4 part video below via youtube.

PART 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmrbNLt7Om8

PART 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKPutNg88bA&feature=channel

PART 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REJ2RsLp1Kk&feature=channel

PART 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUv3A4hscc0&feature=channel

Even though the website doesn't have a segment about firearms, this still applies to everyone, especially those who OC. These videos are about how to present yourself as well as protect yourself during a police encounter. After watching the videos I can see how easily OC encounters apply here. We should all know the laws of OC here in WI. If not, here is the link to the OCDO pamphlet.

Just my two cents and my effort to inform the ignorant.

Most people involved with carrying firearms legally have a pretty good basic understanding of their rights as compared to the average sheepwalker out there.

I think an even more important issue than asserting our rights is what are we going to do to continue to hang on to them and protect them from further encroachments stripping them away.

Right now, our current governmental monster has shown no real cares for us as individuals. They are constantly trying to figure out how to better fence us in to their pasture and force us to submit totheir needs indirect contradiction to our own.

The policeman stopping you and the courts tendancy to favor his actions and words against yours is just one of the microcosms found within the larger sickness.

We need to work towards returning to our roots as a nation and as a people. It time to vote for people who protect all our liberties and not just the ones that are most important to us on an individual basis. Its like our government is turning into the same British monarchy we fought hard to rid ourselves of. Many of their agents act like the Redcoats did against the colonists, and the clueless sheep supporting them are nothing but ignorant or traitorous Tories.

Well said MK, our founders understood what could happen if we lose control of our government that is why they gave us the control. The trouble is getting the sheeple to take their heads out of the sand and pay attention.
