Hi I am from Idaho but travel down to Utah about once a month and would like to carry my firearms (primary and backup) with me as I do everywhere else I go. But not being from UT or anything what are the rules and laws I need to follow. I have an Idaho CWP, however I do not have the Utah CWP.

Being from out of state can I open carry?

I am pretty sure that the ID CWP works in UT, but what other things do i need to worry about as far a CC goes?

Someone told me that if you had a CWP you couldnt OC and that in UT you couldnt even show a buldge of a CC firearm, is this true?

Also Is there any restriction on carrying extra loaded mags or a pair of handcuffs on you belt?

Just need a little advice and if you had a link to the state gun law that would be appricated too.

Thanks in Adavance

I am traveling from Nevada to Utah, but don't have a CCW here. The law is that it must be two actions away from firing but I have a Glock 22. Is being in a level 2 Serpa holster considered an action under the law? And if so would it being in this holster and and not having one in the chamber but still with a loaded mag in it be considered two actions away?

Autoloader:
Must be "Unloaded"--No round in chamber but can have full mag.
Action 1: Rack Slide
Action 2: Pull trigger
Holster has no bearing.

If I read the law right, I think I understand that a loaded mag with an empty chamber is fine because you would have to

(1.) rack the slide
and
(2.) Pull the trigger

2 actions to fire the gun
If I understand this wrong can someone please correct me

I know this made absolutely no sense to me either That is just what i have been told several times actually about Utah specifically.
I was pretty sure that the CWP allowed me to conceal in Utah and have CC down there a few time and I know the buldge was showing but I never got asked about it. So when I heard this I was confused. Thanks for the clairification

Regrettably Mr. Kingfish, the People's Socialist Republic of Illinois does not allow open carry by its helpless citizens. One must obtain a permit just to own a weapon. The City of Chicago prohibits the personal ownership of handguns. (The nine wise ones in DC are about to rule on this matter.)

Wisconsin (my former State) prohibits concealed carry, but there is a strong open carry movement. I suspect that when the current Governor leaves office, CC will again move to the legislature's agenda.

You may have misread my post. I was asking if any state with unlicensed OC and licensed CC REQUIRED the holder of a CC permit to CC.

Since IL does not allow carry at all and WI only allows OC then not sure how my and your comments are connected.
