baby steps to the full monty

I'm a long-time concealed carrier who just started open carrying. I started with baby steps: trips without much public interaction.

This weekend I went the full monty, OC in crowded places on a road trip from NV to UT and back. Right off the bat, at a crowdedgas station convenience store in Sparks, I heard a snarky remark behind my back as I was headed out the door: "Must be working a second job." (I don't look like a cop but I was carrying a G26 in a black leather pancake belt holster, which looks very detective-like, and a spare mag in Blade-Tech kydex.)

No comments at a rest stop, then my plans changed with the weather and I went concealed while in Utah. Back in Sparks, and OC in warm weather, I figured a pizza joint would be full of panicky soccer moms, but it was empty but for the staff, who didn't notice or didn't care.

Next weekend: Supermoto races at the Grand Sierra. Crowds galore, likely security, possibly cops. (Any idea of what to do if trespassed after contracting admission?)

Leave, first off. But demand a refund if possible. Refusing to leave after being tresspassed or asked to leave is grounds for arrest, and casino security are very overbearing on their arrest authority.

I'm not positive they're required to refund your entry fee, but it never hurts to try and get it back.

Most of my experiences with the GS are the Big Reno Gun Show, where they post signs asking for no unchecked firearms in the bowling alley and casino floor.

I haven't OCd a firearm there, but I do OC knives of various sorts (professional thing)

I know several other vendors there do OC pistols and don't have any issues, at least not going to grab a lunch at the bowling alley.

If somebody notices they might have an issue, but if they do have an issue it is my guess that they will ask you to put it away before they would try to trespass you.

You can ask for a refund if they give you an opportunity. I can't say for sure if you'd be able to get one. If they are actually trespassing you you might want to leave immediately so as not to violate trespass laws.

If you buy with credit card, and they kick you out it might be possible to call back and get a refund, but I couldn't say for sure.

The tickets are worth $10/day.

I OCed a G17 among a huge crowd with no issue, despite a large security force. No cops. Nobody said a thing about it.

Of course, when a motorcycle event has a booth from a firearms dealer with multiple black rifles on display, maybe carrying a pistol is no big deal.
