For those who can't view the video, a girl gets attacked while standing RIGHT NEXT to two uniformed security guards, with a third a few feet away. Girl gets beat into unconsciousness at their feet and they do absolutely NOTHING to intervene.

The guards are apparently under contract to "Observe, report, and not interfere."

So much for 'security'.

It was on fox news a few months ago, they said that the guards rules have changed because of this.

I would have gotten involved, if they wanted to fire me for it, they'd have had to deal with a lawsuit and the media.

I sure as heck hope so. Security guards as a deterrent doesn't work, especially when everyone knows they aren't allowed to interfere. That girl was getting beaten at their feet. Hopefully they equipped the guards with some training and allow them to restrain people at the very least.

I work security. I am under strict orders, observe and report. I am not licensed to work armed security, and we are not allowed to carry guns. I carry a Sig Sauer P238 either in my pocket or a shoulder holster.

I have my opota that allows me to open carry while on duty, It really is not worth the extra money you spend for the state and federal training. At least here in ohio, the great state of entitlement.

Pondering that situation... some words to live by.

That's the American way.

In fact, cause the problem, then act like the victim is at fault. Call yourself a Responsible Conservative Republican. Insult the victim, tell her to get a job. Work harder and live in a fancier neighborhood where that sort of thing still happens, but we say it doesn't. But, of course, working harder won't pay, and you won't end up in a better neighborhood. We just take your labors and laugh all the way to the bank, and our kids beat the crap out of you at the bus stop while our security guards watch and do nothing. It's a contract, you know?

It's your own fault for not being a Republican. We protect our own, and profit from victimizing you. Why would you expect us to care? This is exactly how we want it.

I'm a Moral, Christian, Republican, Conservative; you deserve to suffer for my indolence and gluttony. I worked not at all to get where I am, you should work hard to carry my weight.

The guards were wrong, no argument there. However, she was NOT beat into unconciousness as the report said. She got up right after the beating with barely a mark on her. This video is cut short and doesn't show it all.

Half the people involved have plead guilty to the beating, half are going on trial still.

The girl who was beat up was charged previously to doing similar things to other people to rob them in the past. Sheis no angel, but in this instance deserved protection she did not get.

Are you saying they should hit harder?

Just wondering where the above quote stems from. I am a conservative republican, and I am a Christian as well, and yes, I HAVE worked hard to get where I am, and I'm currently working hard taking college classes after work to continue getting farther if I can. I don't rely on others to carry my weight in any way shape or form, and I don't blame the victim in this video for what happened.

You're painting with a mighty wide brush there. I was just wondering where it is coming from.

Old news here in the Seattle Area..... Feb 2010

From officer.com...“A 15-year-old girl who was badly beaten and robbed in a Seattle bus tunnel as three unarmed security guards looked on told investigators that she thought the men would protect her. The statements were revealed in court papers filed Wednesday against the teen girl accused of attacking her and the three young men accused of stealing her purse, phone and iPod. The four were all charged with first-degree robbery.
The victim told a King County sheriff’s detective that the group followed her from a nearby department store into the bus tunnel at Westlake Station on Jan. 28, and she deliberately stood next to the three guards.
The guards didn’t intervene, though. They have standing orders to ‘observe and report,’ so they called police but did nothing else as another 15-year-old girl punched and repeatedly kicked the victim in the head.
Government officials as well as executives at Olympic Security Services Inc., which employs the guards, are reviewing that protocol after the guards’ response was caught on surveillance video.
‘I went to the security and told them that these kids were trying to jump me,’ the girl said. ‘I know that I am about to get jumped and I am hanging around the guards to try and get protection. … I thought the security guards would defend me.’
The girl, who is black, also told the detective that the altercation began at a nearby department store, where some in the group made threatening comments that she had ‘nice things’ and that she acts ‘white.’
Two Seattle police officers noticed the escalating situation and kicked the group out of the Macy’s, then brought the girl and her friend to another exit, the victim said. She reported that she asked the officers for an escort to the bus tunnel, just below the department store, but the officers refused.”

SeattleWeekly.com
The violent attack occurred on January 28, and has led Metro Transit to review its policies regarding outsourced security guards. Which is probably a good idea, considering Transit General Manager Kevin Desmond told The Seattle Times that the hired help followed "the letter of the policy" while watching a kid get beat unconscious.
The alleged attacker was arrested and booked on charges of felony second-degree assault. Three more suspects--ranging in age from 18 to 20--were also apprehended. The victim was not hospitalized, but lost some hair, gained a few bruises and, according to the Sheriff's office, is still sore from the beating.

While I understand not doing anything because they could lose their jobs, I do agree with the lady that was interviewed... kinda sad living in a world where everyone is like "not my problem, not getting involved"

Yeah, it really is sad. One of my coworkers used to live in Mexico and while in Mexico City witnessed a man with a gun assaulting a woman in public. Everybody just walked on by like it was normal.

I would rather my corrupt soul rot away in hell for all of eternity than to walk by and ignore such an offense simply because I'm not the victim. Allowing such things to happen is the same as supporting them.

I have a good friend who is an unarmed security guard he to is under strict orders to "observer, report" and nothing more.

so, your buddy would just stand around and watch 3 guys rape a woman in a dark parking garage ??? if so, your pal is a useless SOB.

He did not say that. He only said what his friend's instructions were.

Maybe you should wait until you know before you pass such an ugly judgment.

The victums past makes no difference

Standing orders or not, the past of the victum, both are irrelevent, at least one of them should have out of commond sense did something other than stand there and call on there radios. No one there could have known the victum was not being killed with the kicks to the head. " i'm not getting involved " i'm so sick of hearing that lame ass statement when it comes to someone being beaten. It could have been anyone of our Daughters. I'm not saying use lethal force on the attacker but Dam one of the security could have stoped it sooner.
