Just listened to the Bill Meyer (KMED Medford) show on podcast when he had Sheriff Mike Winters in the studio to take calls and discuss issues. Near the end ofthe broadcast (the very last caller) he takes a call from a concealed carrier asking about the legal ramifications if his concealed weapon becomes exposed.
In his reply Sheriff Winters says (at 20:30 or thereabouts in theaudio file)".....you can carry a pistol open carry carry in Oregon". My audio file kept changing the "time stamp" as I replayed it trying to narrow down the time. It's near the very end, the last caller.
While there are still a lot of questions about how they handled the ODOT situation in March and the recent problems for medical marijuana folks who were denied permits (which has now been settled in court as being legal and must be issued), it's nice to hear the Sheriff saying OC is legal on public radio.
