i agree with just going elsewhere. I've completely stopped shopping at wal-mart because of their policy. now i go to target which has uniformed and *sometimes* armed guards.....and they never give me a second look. I also dont eat at mc donnalds or burger king *plus side im losing weight :-D* haha

If you have a problem in a WalMart because you're open carrying (as in they say leave) you need to pursue it to the Corporate office. Corporate policy is that they comply with state and local law. If it is legal for you to OC there, you may OC there.

i also OC into McDonalds (and everywhere else). I OC daily and that's just the way it's gonna be. Only one business has prohibited me from entering (the local mall) and so they get none of my business. I don't go to CostCo because their corporate policy is "only criminals can have guns".

I HAVE been approached a few times, even asked to "cover it", but I stand by my principles and say "no thanks, but if you want me to leave I'll make my purchases elsewhere". In one store the manager actualy said "Well then I'll escort you so that no one is afraid". I said "No thanks, I won't be treated like a criminal and escorted around the store by an employee simply because I am exercising my rights".

Don't ARGUE but be firm that what you are doing is legal and that you're money can AND WILL go elsewhere. If it's a big box with a corporate policy of allowing lawful carry, PURSUE it and have it come down from management to the store that they are not to hassle you. Then go right back.

Major Chains I remember that have corporate policies allowing lawful carry.
Starbucks .... DUH we all know that one now...LOL
WalMart
Home Depot
Barnes and Nobel
Best Buy
Sears
K-Mart (owned by Sears holding corporation)

And there are more.

No, I live in Arizona, hence why I'm posting in an Arizona forum and not a Maine forum.

Great. Then why not post your Arizona location into your bio to show everyone your respect for this fine state.

Respect private property. End of story. Or... patronize elsewhere.

So what? Go home...

If they post I don't spend money there. In theory I would like to see a law where if you decide to disarm your customer you must provide armed security, say 1 Armed guard per 30 customers, to include parking lots.

But if they post shop elsewhere.

I don't feel that symbolism is needed to appreciate something. I know where I live, that's good enough for me.
