I hear about these Cops that can't stand OCers, then I see Cops waving to me like what's up dude!

I was OCing at Office Depot in Draper, walking my new puppy to my car, I look up and I see a Murray Police Car with a woman in the (passenger seat) and a male Cop behind the wheel, they are off duty eating In & Out Burgers in the middle of the Parking Lot.

I see them looking my way, Iput the dog in the car and have not made eye contact with them yet. I am wearing my Cowboy hat, my Infidel OD Green T-shirt, XD40 in my serpa #2 holster, in shorts with nike sandals. I finally make contact with them, they both wave as they are throwing down some big burgers, and they give me that, "hey what's up head nod."

I am thinking do they think I am a LEO off duty too, because the greeting was very friendly? Either way I have never run into those "Bad Cops" that hate the fact that we can OC in front of them. TheCops I see are always eating and perhaps can'tbe bothered with a weird looking dude witha loaded gun on his hip.

While I'm sure there are exceptions--and I don't want to impugn anyone--I do think that in many cases a person's overall appearance and comportment often has a huge effect on what response, if any, they get from police while OCing. There are a few times when I end up OCing in my working grubbies. But most often I'm wearing a polo shirt with new jeans. And I'm a fat, balding, middle age white dude who often has a wife and/or a couple of kids in tow. And I rarely spend any time in WVC. :)

I have no real good reason to go to WVC, but I now can use the excuse of the puppy needs to "socialize" with other dogs like Pitbulls, which it never sees in the south east end of the valley.

My first real out-of-the-house OC experience consisted of going to cabela's, best buy, target, walmart, and ended by being escorted out of a mall by the malls' security, backed up by a police officer. We all exchanged words and even had some laughs. I apologized for not realizing it was 'posted' as I didn't see any signs or anything and thought OC was fine in the mall. The Police officer said 'Well, out there (pointing outside) you can carry a gun anywhere you want, but when you cross private property lines, they have the right to allow or disallow firearms...

I've had a couple other encounters with LEOs and never yet have had a 'bad-cop' experience.
