Interesting report. Sounds like both fellows could have handled the situation much differently and more appropriately.

By the way, where did it say a firearm was involved? I must have missed that.

Oops, I linked the wrong story. (Now fixed.)This is the story of the road ragers (gun vs. baseball bat). That was the story of the unarmed pursuit vs. defender armed himself with a hammer.

Wow, I'm not sure if the victim should be commended or scolded for not shooting. It APPEARS his life was in danger - a baseball bat swung to his head most definitely could have been deadly - and he apparently exercised remarkable restraint in not firing.

Its always difficult to get the full story from such a report.

At any rate, am glad the victim prevailed.

Good point, Dave. Actually, the victim with CCW prevailed against the baseball bat wielding perpetrator without firing a shot - albeit with some injury.

I have some questions that can not be answered with the information provided in the article.

Did the armed victim have time to fire a shot before being struck?
Was his firearm loaded?
was a round chambered?
Did he simply not have the sack to pull the trigger?
Did he believe that just displaying his firearm would deter any further attack?
