DISCLOSE Act - Jones Feedback Day
As we have noted this week, Republican Rep. WALTER JONES has decided to throw in with the Democrats on HR 5175, the DISCLOSE Act, which is designed to take away the freedom of speech recently restored when the U.S. Supreme Court decision on McCain-Feingold. Part of his reasoning being that the NRA is not objecting to it due to a special exemption carved out by Rep. HEATH SHULER that would leave them as the only voice for gun owners... for now.
In response to callers Rep. Jones staff uses the fact that the Brady Campaign will also be impacted as a justification for also taking the right away from almost all pro-gun organizations.
Time to let Congressman Jones know that you aren't buying it; there will be a feedback day from 9:00 to 10:00 tomorrow morning.
